ASKIN72: thanks for the suggestion. I think I will be doing that, I fell I understand the examples on the book, but then the MCQs are so confusing and long. maybe you are right, I jsut need to get the concept.

Done with FAR on the first try. So relieved.

I thought I had bombed it because of the SIMS and also because I did not notice a difference in the difficulty level between the testlets. I used an old Becker book to study, Ninja notes, Wiley questions online and cpareviewforfree.com. I took 4 days off from work before the exam and studied non stop. I definitely think that helped me pass.

Good luck to everyone and don't give up.

I'm having a lot of trouble with FAR. My test is in a little more than 2 weeks. I have watched all the Yaegar lectures and done all the WIley test bank questions at least once. About to finish up my second time through the test bank and I'm only scoring between a 60-70%. It is completely freaking me out. I know I have 2 more weeks, but that's not really not too much time when you work full time. I don't know what to do. I haven't had this problem with any of the other sections.

j214, just keep taking notes while doing MCQs, review them and keep doing more MCQs. Two weeks will be plenty of time to add some points. I was scoring in that range 2 weeks before and I still passed.

Let's just say…if you think IFRS is going to be ~ 2 simple questions on the test, you'll be in for a surprise.

    Finally!!!

I finally got an 80 on Wiley test bank simulated test…..My test is next Monday. When I took audit, I was comfortable with the material and got a 79..I am not that confident with FAR, hopefully that will keep my eyes wide open during the exam to read the questions as good as I can possibly can. As for the rest of today, I will do another simulated test and review the cash flow topic. Tomorrow, I might review the notes, not sure yet, I want to be off of studying before 2pm.

Lets see how it goes, I will post something Monday afternoon.

    Wish me luck!!!

@HustlinHustlin: If you were asking before you signed up for the live class, I would have told you NO WAY!!! It is a huge waste of money and they barely do anything more than you get with self-study since you still have the video lectures and the book and software. Anyway, take it on your own time. Spend more time on what you don't feel comfortable with, HOWEVER, make sure you nail the things you are good at. Think of it this way, FAR is a mile wide and an inch deep. Rather than spend hours and hours on topics you are okay at, spend some of that time redoing the stuff you are great at and be sure you can count on those points.

That being said, I never did a practice test, but since I was going at such a quick pace (studied from beg to end in ~3.5 weeks) I just reviewed by reading. Take your time and don't rush things. But don't spend too much time on anything either. Keep moving and note things you want to look at specifically later. Sometimes it helps to leave something and come back to it later (helped me anyway). Just found out I passed on my first try with an 84.. must have done something right.

Thank you! Ugh I hate Becker sometimes though I know is it preparing me for more than what should be expected.

I spent all day reading F2, Matching section and taking notes, so I felt like I had a pretty good grasp on it and decided to take on the dreaded 88 questions on that section…..well I'm 0 for 8. FRUSTRATING. Aaaand thats how I got back here.

So I am retaking FAR on 11/26. I studied the indirect and the direct approach to cash flows all weekend. There are just so many ways to twist accrual accounting. So much information to cover while working a full time job. Can't wait to take the test but need more time to study.

Any thoughts on cash flows for FAR? I know I had a big problem on a SIM last time but you just don't know what you are going to get. I also need to put more time into IFRS.

Hey guys I can really use some motivation right now. I am going to loose my credit for REG this December =/ and I am trying not to give up but studying for FAR is the last thing I want to do right now. I studied for FAR earlier this year and failed with a 60 in Feb. I went back and studied for it for three months and bombed the sims and ended with a 68. I am using Becker and have gone through these questions so many times that at this point the material seems redundant and I feel like I am not absorbing anything. My test is scheduled for Nov. 30th but I am strongly thinking of re-scheduling because I am barely getting through ch4 out of 9 right now. Any tips, suggestions, ideas to help me motivate would be greatly appreciated! I am also thinking of using Wiley for FAR and trying that out. Thanks guys!

    Sonia.

I say take the exam in November and see what happens. Each test is different you never know you may just get the right mix for your passing score. I'm right there with you. There are so many ways to twist the information and I feel like the time constraint makes it hard to sort it all out without getting stressed. I'm going to work on keeping myself calm and focused during the sims this time. Good Luck.

    To All,

I just took the exam………..I am so mad, it was all about basic topics and I spent the last week studying complicated stuff. My only advice do lot of MCQ's and learn the basics.

Testlet 1 and 3 were good the second was definitely harder. I left the testing center with 40 mins still available. I was about to review on e of the sims, but I was so hungry that was even shaking 😉

I am not feeling good as I felt when I wente for AUD, so I am just hoping for a miracle.

    Please give me a pickup!

    BEC - 60, 71, 79
    AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
    REG - 74, 76

    @Sdb2fsu

Based on my experience today, keep doing MCQ's, if you have Wiley test bank spend at least a week doing simulated test and you will be fine. If this is your first time with FAR you might have the same experience that I had, all basics, nothing bad. My problem was that I started to freak out and forgot to review the basics and spent my last week working on “harder” topics. I just did like 5 simulated tests. Now I dont know what to expect.

Good Luck and please dont freak out, it is not that hard if you study the basics……….trust me 😉
