IFRS Prohibits the reporting of any amount as extraordinary on the income statement or in the notes of the financial statements.

3 down 1 to go as well! I'm not sure whether to stay with Becker ( I have 2009 edition) but I want to buy 2011or switch to Wiley? Any suggestions?

Hey guys! A friend referred me to this site while I was preparing for FAR and I can't tell you what a big help it was for me to hear all of your experiences and frustrations. I just received my scores for FAR and thankfully I passed! One down, 3 to go… I was shocked that I passed due to the fact that I rushed through the first Sim and barely touched the second one. However I felt very good about the MC and I guess I did very well there. So if you've recently taken the test and struggled with the sims. don't give up hope, you still have a good chance to pass.

I have a question fro you guys.

I am having trouble converting cash basis to accrual and vice versa.

If A/R inc during the year, you would add it to the income from the cash basis right?

Also, if A/P decreased during the year, you would subtract from income from cash basis?

Can someone please explain this to me in English haha. Thanks

I ordered a Wiley 2011 FAR book and in flipping through it, I do not see anything about IFRS. What's up with this? Someone please help!

Threres a section at the end of the modules…before the ASC key terms. just a few paragraphs. I'm up to module 10 inventory and I know there's info. and 9 a-d has a summary chart somewhere.

@Herbieherb i also used those pages as a good study tool for IFRS.

Anyone else take the new exam yet? what'd you think?

This is my 4th crack at FAR and I thought the test has become pretty challenging. Note to everyone: Make sure to pace yourself well. I felt myself freaking out at the end when i only had 25 more mins left for 3 more tabs of the TBS.

Really hoping for a curve here…

I want to hear an opinion on my studying method.

    I took FAR twice and scored a 69 and 74 (November 2010.)

I usually read through the text and then do the MC for each section. (I use Becker)

I am thinking of watching the lectures last as a sum up instead of watching them 1st. What do you guys think? Does this sound like a good idea?

Anyone having sat for the exam this wave? A lot of IFRS? What are we up against? New simulations easier or harder than the old format?

Specifics or even wink-wink nudge-nudge hints about what you saw aren't allowed per AICPA…let's all remember that.

Sorry about that Jeff – My intention was to see what type of weight IFRS is going to have on exams going forward. Has the AICPA even released anything along those lines?

Hello all. I just finished sitting for BEC today and I'm about to start studying for FAR. Scheduled to sit on Feb 26th. Anyone have any suggestions for this beast?

I took REG last week and I am planning to take FAR on Feb 23rd. This will be my second attempt with FAR(72 on my first try). I will be able to put in 6 hours of study time everyday. The folks that have already taken FAR with the new changes, please give me your opinions. Will 25 days be enough for the second time around with the new IFRS material or is it better to schedule it in April? Thanks in advance !

    REG 83 (Lost credit), 78 🙂
    AUD 8/29/13
    BEC 67, 75
    FAR 76
