@Soon2BCPA – I've heard that the cash flow statement is common on sims, so I would learn that – it's on my to-do list as well 🙁 I'm trying to log as many mcq's & sims as possible at this point before the exam next week. Good luck!

Good luck next week! I definitely would want to hear about your thoughts after the exam! I shall work on sim next week… i haven't had a chance to any yet. Are you using Becker?

Thanks 🙂 Yes, I'm using Becker, but I also bought the Wiley test bank since Jeff had it for 40% off. Becker left me totally unprepared for the sims on REG, so I decided to get extra mcq's & sims to practice with.

You know I'm no spring chicken but the morning schedule works for me since I am wiped out at night and can't sit up like I did when I was a spring chicken without baby chicks.

I would definitely take a second look at the cash flow statement. I'm about to try to study for REG in 4 weeks. I know it sounds crazy but I do have some tax experience and that is how long I studied for BEC.

Am I crazy or just sleep deprived?

Please NC release those scores tomorrow before I lose my marbles!

Okay so even though I occasionally glance through this blog, I felt compelled to register because I am SO in the same boat as everyone else here!

@ Pattie, I'm doing Becker F5 right now too! I, too, spent all day at the Library yesterday and some of today working on Bonds also. It was so discouraging having spent all day for 20 questions – it seems like there are a million components to those questions. BUT I'm going to take your advice and definitely get the NINJA notes. It's such a relief to hear that I'm not the only one that struggled with that piece. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my brain.

@momof4 I've got one baby chick and I usually stay up late to study but I'm going to try the morning schedule too to see how that will work. I'm exhausted at night and having trouble focusing also.

    Thanks y'all!

Ok, so this is my 6th week of study, and I am scoring 60's on progress test (Becker). Yesterday, I completed the 1st round of re-writing Ninja Study Guides and while I was re-writing I could recall the items from the review, so that means I am not that lost ;).

I only have 2 more weeks as my exam is on the 10th. I guess the smartest thing to do now is to keep doing MCQ's and add Wiley test bank next week…..

Any recommendations on how to spend my next two weeks. ;(

btw, getting up at 5 and studying until 6.30 is working perfectly for me. I add 45 mins- 1 hr at luch and 2 more hours at night 8.30-10.30

    Done 😉

Ok, I see everyone recommending NINJA Notes….. is this the NINJA Study Guide? or NINJA Flashcards? You guys have me confused on the terminology! haha

I'm currently using Becker. And feeling extremely overwhelmed. My test is 2 weeks from today (10/10) and I'm thinking maybe I should invest in these “notes” as a little extra cramming help.

Soon2BCPA127 good job getting up early.

So I guess when I thought that “the release of scores during the blackout month” meant the blackout month following the exam window in which you took your test I was wrong.

Maybe NC will just never tell me if I passed.

I'm having a why am I doing this moment.

@momof4 – thank you! Right now at a starbucks – falling asleep doing deferred tax liability questions.

So what is a blackout month? Is this your exam part?

@jeff – for FAR is better to do NINJA notes or Wiley test bank? i”m not sure if reading would help or practicing more questions?

What is everyone's strategy re: time for MC vs sims. For AUD, I had an hour to spare after I finished the SIMS but I have heard that the FAR SIMS are a beast. Becker says 55 mins on each MC testlet and 1 hr – 1:15 for SIMS. That doesn't seem like enough time for SIMS. I was thinking more like 30-40 mins per MC testlet and the rest for SIMS.

Appreciate any thoughts! Eek… my test is coming up soon and I am doing really bad in MC % on my 2nd time through even after taking my own notes. This section blows.

    @kaaCPA

I allowed 45 minutes / MC testlet. The first one was easy and it probably took 30 minutes, so this allowed extra time on the last 2 MC testlets that were more difficult. Since FAR was my first test and I was dumb and didn't know the new format and didn't read the screen apparently, I thought there were 2 testlets of SIMS, so I allowed myself 45 minutes for each SIM testlet…except there was only 1 testlet, so I finished 45 minutes early and had almost a heart attack when the test ended since I was anticipating another testlet. 45 minutes was enough for me on the SIMS, but there really was only 1 that I didn't quite know how to solve with the info provided. Had I known I had another 45 min, I probably could've sat there and figured it out, but anyway, everything turned out ok. So the plan you mentioned sounds totally do-able.
