Hello everyone, I signed up for my BEC exam on 1/26/11. I'm scoring around high 80's on the simulated practice exams.

The last time I took BEC I scored a 73 having the same results on my practice tests (high 80's low 90's). Anyone have any suggestions to boost my CPA exam score? I know the test changed since the last time I sat and I wanted to see what areas are tested the most heavily on this new exam from the people who already sat for it.

Also, I took off from work on Monday and Tuesday, which should give me enough time to bring my scores up to 90's again.

just took BEC yesterday. is it adaptive now? cause the second testlet had me almost in tears. wiley's test bank is GREAT preparation. i had no problem with any of the corporate governance material and very few issues with the rest. my memos did get shorter and i shorter as i went a long. i know they could've been better but i was preoccupied with nailing down ratios and calculations.

overall, it was not bad. wiley's test bank was a lifesaver.

I'm sitting for BEC tomorrow and I think I'm ready. I have been keeping track of the hours I put in and clocked about 110.5 hours of studying. I'm scoring over 90% and my practice simulations. I even bought the Ninja program…. My brain is officially fried from this stuff.

Does anyone have any last minute suggestions before the test tomorrow? Anyone know of any topics specifically to focus on for this new format?

This exam was definately easier for me this time. I would recommend to anyone studying to really focus on the new stuff. Also, the written section did take some time. Becker seemed to recommend about 15 minutes per response. It took me about 20-25 minutes per response. The multiple choice went by pretty easy but there were 2 or 3 questions that came out of left field.

The exam did not seem adaptive at all and MC questions were very short but all over the place.

HI everyone,

after reviewing the content specification outline for the 2011 BEC exam, there are a couple things to note to some of you out there with 2010 study materials. Business Structure's, and Information Technology. You need to supplement your 2010 studying material with either Bisk, or Wiley, both of which you can pick up for about $50 at Barnes and Noble (get the 2011 editions of course). You will need to study the following content areas outside of your 2010 study material: Corporate Governance, Information Systems and Communications (not just Info Tech), and Strategic Planning which focuses on SWOT and Competitive Strategy. At least for Becker (and I'm assuming all the other 2010 BEC study materials), Business Structures and IT can be thrown out. You need to add the items noted above by supplementing your 2010 study materials. Remember that the new exam has the three written communication tabs (make sure you understand all the concepts). Doing all the MC questions over and over will only help you so much… You need to understand the concepts, and how certain concepts relate to other concepts. Good luck everyone! I have my exam Monday, January 31. Does anyone know the last day for first wave scores in the jan/feb test window? Thanks again!
