whats all this “Corporate Governance” concern?? I have noticed it being mentioned reading throughout his forum for past few weeks…can someone explain the complexity of it & exactly “why” it is confusing/i should spend some extra review time on it?

also, @snotrods, i feel like your description of writing comm is right on point so far in my experience-i just seem to answer it logically..for far & aud i didnt even use the resource section at end or anything i just kind of b.s.'ed my way through it as i would any other memo; not worried ab that part of exam too much…i think a lot of the grading is making sure your “normal” and can communicate an idea in a business manner

@ Snot Rod.. my apologies.. I did realize when I posted your name was “real”… I though the writer was creating a rude name ented based on your deeming the exam ‘easy”.

Really, anyone who calls it easy is a Penelope from SNL (know it all type) and it isn't too attractive, to boot….

Agreed, Ms Snotrod, the calculator drove me nuts, I had a hard time getting it to accept decimal points. I am now studying with what they give you in the exam; pencils ( I prefer a pen) and an on screen calculator.

I assume there is some meaning behind your name, Mrs. Snotrod, but really? It is hard to respond to you seriously. Perhaps your child just has a runny nose, but that joke might be best made exclusively at home if you want serious comments here.

@annette1 Lol no worries. Have you seen the Disney Pixar movie Cars, there is 72 Challenger in the movie named SnotRod (he had a runny nose) and my son loves him so he calls himself and will not answer to his real name, Husband drives 09 Challenger SRT8 aka SnotRod so this means I am the Snot Rods Mommy. That's my story, now moving on to Regulations for attempt # 2, wish you the best of luck your studies. BTW Becker had the same stupid calculator and at first I thought it was a Becker issue but its an AICPA issue too (just my thought)

    Hi,

I am currently studying for BEC. This is the first part I am taking, and I am doing Becker. Can someone please tell me if a 65-75 average on the first attempt homework is a bad sign. Because I am a little discouraged. I am thinking how will I crack a 75 on the real thing if I am only getting between 65-75 (or even lower) on the homework?

    thanks

@Harry…DONT BE DISCOURAGED-hahahha ive been studying for a month now and still barely crack 70%…there is so much material and Becker has done a decent job of preparing me for other 2sections

i legit never got higher than 75% when studying for audit and far (well i guess not saying much since got a 75 on far, still that was a BEAST)…my method consists of reading(forget the lectures, waste of time) and doing hw for each section once…i have finsihed 1,2,3 and am now doing progress test after progress test (50 questions each)and jus getting down as much as i can

dont be worried ab your % as much as following your “issue spotting” progress…i find that when i know what these quetsions are asking i can usually guess at right answer or work toa reasonable solution…so far in BEC im having a little trouble in grasping which calc i shuld be using, but not even stressing that much because evryone seems to be saying its a lot of theory, which is ez

my recomendation, as has always been0which comes from my dad whos a CPA, is do just do questions over nd over nd over…i cnt tell you how many AUD ?'s were straight out of becker it was crazy…keep at it-NEVER GET DISCOURAGED…move on and come back to it after another chapter to make sure you dont forget, dont waste time trying to get to 90% right or something, in my opinon thats not worth it

all the CPA people say getting a 75 means you studied the perfect amount, not liek we get a gpa cum score on this thing, jus gotta get thru it….keep at it man-good luck!

Keep your head up! It seems like those who score higher than a 75 the first time around on homework are watt sells award winners…let's be realistic – there are only 10 of those given out. 🙂

Just keep plugging away; work and re-work the multiple choice questions. When you get one wrong, go back and understand why you got it wrong. The homework is just a tool to help prepare you – not necessarily an indication of how you'd perform on exam day. Whatever you do, don't get discouraged!

    Good luck!
