My head is about to split open. I just took a Becker practice final and averaged about 57%. Granted, I am simultaneously answering the phone at work and constantly being interrupted (tax season!). I got to a point where the questions were just so complex, I just guessed before really trying.

I know it is harder than the real deal, but this is NOT good to score so low the day before my exam and it really has taken the wind out of my sails. I went back over each question to see where I can learn from the tricks and traps.

Too late to reschedule now. Good luck to everyone and here's hoping we all do well.

Megan, I'll let you know how the Justin Bieber movie is. My son calls him “Justin Beaver”.

    relax cpawannabe!

You had too much going on when trying to take a practice test and your nerves need a break!

You're going to tell BEC who's the boss tomorrow-just remember that!

    Am rooting for you-good luck!

I just left BEC and I think the 57% on my Becker practice final is a good indicator of my performance.

I took BEC in November just to get a feel for it. I wrote down exactly how many of the 90 questions were calculations. Well, my first testlet today had more calculations than my entire exam in November. Hope I'm not divulging too much.

I spent an hour on the first testlet so of course I was pressed for time the rest of the exam. I did lots of guessing just to get through it. If it was adaptive, I couldn't tell. The theory questions were vague and the calculations were not so hard, but they needed quite a bit of time to work.

One of the things about BEC that made it “better” than the others was that there was plenty of time. Well, not today. I rushed through it and had 2 seconds left on the clock.

Slowly but surely it is all coming together….Finally! Today I really drilled myself on Corporate Governance, Ops Management, and Economics….Very glad I am strong in the Corporate Governance & Ops Management topics as they are pretty heavily weighted on the exam and now I feel better about the Economics topic too. Hopefully by Monday I will have even the cost accounting calculations down pat.

Good luck to everyone taking BEC this coming week and weekend. I take mine on the 26th and am hoping to be more than ready to ace this sucker!

    REG 85 | FAR 85 | AUD 88 | BEC 76!!! DONE!!!!

    @CPAWannaBe

I just took the test this weekend and I had exactly the same experience as you.

I didn't worry so much about the content on the WC's. I just read many examples of good answers so I could get a feel of what I should include and where to include it and how a good answer's structure flows. It FEELS like that paid off for me….will now wait a stinking MONTH to see. =)

Allyson – I had a co-worker score exactly 57% on their “final exam” before taking the test too, and they passed with a 77. So it can mean nothing!

    FAR 50, 60, 70, 74, 83...DONE!!

Long time reader, first time poster.

First off good luck to those of you sitting for BEC this week. I'd say so far that this has been the most difficult one for me studywise–the information doesn't have the same flow to it that FAR and AUD had. Do I feel ready? Absolutely not, but I never do so I guess that is par for the course with this thing

Not sure about all of you but I am glad that BEC now contains WC questions, while they might be a pain on exam day—just remember its a chance to get some easy points with a thing I like to call BS. I've fluffed and just flat out made up things on past WCs and received full credit, so those of your stressing over it I encourage you to focus on those multiple choice questions this week instead.

Those of you using Becker—the progress tests are a good way to hit the key points of each chapter. I usually do solely progress tests about a week or two before the exam(in addition to brushing up on notes). As usual I will be on here all week for last minute sanity(reading others experiences help me get through this), and then back again in March as we all anxiously wait for our scores. Once again good luck to all!

I am taking BEC this coming Saturday and I just took Final Exam 1 on Becker and scored 83,70,70 on the MCQ. I am not sure if that is great, but I am hoping that it is a good sign I'll do well on the actual exam. I plan on taking Final Exam 2 on Thursday after I've reviewed some more…
