Sdb2fsuParticipantThanks for the pick up. I am just going to press on and do as much as possible. I am a firm believer in rewriting my notes but I may have to forfeit some modules due to time.
Did you use Yaeger? If so, do you think they prepared you overall?
Thanks Again!

savy100MemberI just took a Becker practice test for FAR and in one of the simulations, I had the journal entry correct but in a different order that the answer had and the whole entry was marked wrong. Is this normal for Becker? Would the real test count a journal entry wrong for being in a different order? I'm so confused.

Marivy22ParticipantI used Becker, Wiley test bank and for the last week and a half Yaeger CRAM. Based on what I saw on the CRAM, yes they cover all the material. I am with you on doing notes, keep doing that and you will be fine, and of course lots of MCQ's to make sure that you know how to apply the concepts.
For exam purposes, I think that as long as you have the correct results the order should not matter… I had the same experience with Wiley test bank, I guess their database is limited to one answer.
Good Luck to All!!!

AnonymousInactivehey everyone. I just found out this morning that I failed FAR with a 66. I'm so frustrated because I studied so much but never felt prepared. For those of you who passed, what study materials do you recommend. I really need to knock this exam about before tax season starts. I used Becker this time around and I don't think it prepared me that well. Also, I was wondering how long you'd recommend studying. A week per section? It seems like that would take forever? Any advice is much appreciated.

raymondsfamilyParticipantHi,
I am new to this site in terms of actually posting a response. I have a quick question on the FAR exam…I took it a few months ago and because I didn't have the best approach to studying (I have Becker) I bailed on the SIMS portion of the exam (I was burned out towards the end of the testlets). So I am thinking I would have only been graded on the MCQs when I got my score back, correct? I got a 48 on the test but I never took the SIMS. I left them all blank…do you think that if I took the SIMS and did fairly ok on them that I could've passed the exam? Just curious is all 🙂
I did take my AUD on 11/3 and will take the BEC on 11/30 (so far I am doing well on all the MCQs)…
Thanks!

MahinaMember@raymondsfamily – you are graded on the sims whether you fill them out or not. Leaving them completely blank just gets you a failing grade. I am not sure what grade you would have gotten if you had done the sims as the grading algorithm is confusing. Make sure you study the sims in AUD and look over how they want the writing done for BEC.

raymondsfamilyParticipantMahina – Thanks for the heads up on the SIMS portion. I kinda figured that I would have had a shot at an additional 25-35 points to my score if I had done the SIMS. Given that the test (according to Becker?) is 60% for the testlets and 40% for the SIMS that I was pretty much accounting only for the MCQ activity.
Is there anyone who has just thrown their hands up mid-test and gone back to nail it?

Mand23MemberI am so sorry to hear about your far experience. I just took far for the first time and it is my last exam. I have no idea how I did. I wish you the best of luck on FAR!!!
Im really not much on giving good advice..
but as for becker f6 def tax liab./asset..i think the best thing you can do it memorize the chart becker has in the book..i am not sure of the exact page but its a 4 part box and has a listing of what is considered an asset and what is considered a liab. If you memorize that chart..it will eliminate half the multiple choice answers bc you will know whether it should be a L or an A right off the bat. I think second part is reading the question very very carefully.. bc you need to be sure you are answering the question correct..sometimes they asks for the expense OR the balance sheet portion(they usually give both as choices) I also used the the equation becker gives you..and sometimes i would even write it out for the problems. I have experience doing taxes though..so it may be clearer for me just because i am very familiar with tax return information. I hope this helps! if you have any specific questions ..id be more than happy to answer them for you!

MeganParticipantWhew. I just took it a few hours ago. I hope I'm not feeling too confident, but I feel pretty good about it. I felt like I got “my” test with all the things I know on it. I know there were things I missed, but I really hope this is it!

PeanutParticipantDear FAR,
I don't know if I've had a little too much to drink tonight. What I DO know is that I hate you with an intense passion. I went into the exam today thinking I was going to dominate you, and $hit all over you. Apparently, you tried to trick me, again. If you were a person I would run you over in my car, put the car in reverse, and run you over again. Not only have you ruined my summer, but now you have ruined my fall. Don't worry, even if you defeated me this time, I will come back for you. I promise.
Sincerely, Peanutty Person.

I love your post. LOL funny. I think most people think they did worse right after an exam, and FAR is a beast. I am going to think positive for ya…….I think you got it!

PeanutParticipantOH noo haha geez I hope I didn't post in any other threads last night. Thanks for having hope Yankee. I fail more than I pass, I'm familiar with the feeling of failing, and I think I failed this one :/ I'm really good with JE's so the SIMs weren't bad. But I had to guess on a lot of the MCQs in the third testlet. It was bad 🙁 On to BEC now.. I'll give myself a few days to recoop!
