Also remember as well that you can make good use of the research tab to look up answers in your simulations (i.e. even the non-research sims) if you have extra time. This is especially true for FAR since basically the whole code is going to specifically address questions from that exam. On the other hand, I didn't really find it that useful for when I took AUD.

    AUD - 85
    FAR - 78 (lol@ FAR Sims)
    REG - 85
    BEC - August

    Hello all,

I am scheduled to take FAR on the 31st. For those who have just taken it recently, any helpful hints? I took it a year ago in the old format and was wondering if there was a certain area that they have been focusing heavily on recently. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    REG – 77

    BEC – 77

    AUD – (Took on 8/6/11)

    FAR – 8/31/11

    Hello there,

I am currently studying for the FAR section, it is so hard, and I feel exhausted. Any suggestions or hints on how to prepare better and what chapters are more crucial?

    REG (2/17/11) – 85

    BEC (5/27/11) – 83

    AUD (7/15/11) – waiting

FAR (11/23/11) – maybe sooner, depending on how stressed I am, lol

    I need some support…

I'm studying for FAR, and my test date is Tuesday the 30th. I'm working on copying my notes during the final review, but it's like I am seeing this all for the first time. I can't imagine how I will be ready for the test Tuesday, or ever. It's so much material. When I took BEC last year (although BEC is much easier), I felt pretty knowledgeable going into the test and felt like I did everything I could do (I passed). How have you all felt going into FAR? What were the results?

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

@katelyn – I'm feeling the same way and I'm sitting on Monday. I just did 90 MCQs and scored 58%. I'm going to work on another 90 now. Also what I'm doing is the question I get wrong cause I didn't know it I'm making myself flashcards of them.

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

I hadn't gotten that far yet. I was doing a mix of rewriting and MCQs, but it was dragging on and my frustration was growing. So now I'm trying to hurry up and finish rewriting and then just do MCQs like crazy, taking notes on those as needed. I took off Friday so I can probably get at least 30 hours of studying in this weekend. What are you using to study? I'm thinking about getting Wiley online as supplemental MCQs.

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

Is it even humanly possible to retain this much information?? Around noon today I had to give up rewriting my notes because I was going to run out of time. I decided I would just read through them and work out some calculations as needed. I'm still not even done reading through them! How can I possibly retain all this stuff just re-reading it once? If I ever finish reading them, I still need to work MCQs and hopefully run through the Ninja notes. I think my head is going to explode.

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

Hey guys just finished the becker materials. I have not done any review yet, but I took a 100mc test today and got a 72. Think I should use the NTS to schedule for August 31 and continue study after the exam in case things don't go well?

If you think you're ready and comfortable with the material why not??

    POP QUIZ

How should Virginia record earthquake losses? Hurricane losses?

How should New York record hurricane losses?

I'm thinking that Virginia earthquake and hurricane is infrequent, but not unusual. IFCO

I'm thinking that New York hurricane is infrequent AND unusual. Extraordinary item

What do you think? I'm in Louisiana, so my perspective may be a little different.

Don't lie….you know you read the news headlines (just the headlines, no time to read the actual articles) and think about the accounting implications.

I have a fascination with severe weather, so I've been following the storm. I actually did think about the infrequent/unusual thing. That is so sad.
