    @silliepanda

    I have NO idea! I am usually quite calm during the exam and I have been blessed with a fairly good short-term memory, I guess! Not sure how well that helped with BEC though – lots of guesses there!

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)

    @silliepanda…usually about 2-3 hours most nights, all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoon/evening for probably 4-5 hours. Sometimes I put in an hour in the morning before work. Basically I don't do anything else – I don't have young kids at home any more and my husband is wonderful about doing stuff around the house so I don't have to. Occasionally I take a night or part of a weekend off if something important is going on or I just need a break. Otherwise, work and studying is currently my life! Don't want to prolong this any longer than I have to!

    I have much admiration for those who have been at this a long time and keep going until they get it done! Takes lots of perseverance and dedication! At my age, I just don't have any extra time to waste if I want to be a CPA for any length of time. What I mean by that is not that others are wasting their time – please don't take it that way. I just mean sometimes when you are younger it seems like there is no rush to getting this done – there are other things in life to enjoy and if you don't get it this year, there's always next year. I know that's not your intention, but it is a reality. (Of course, I am not speaking just about you as I don't know how old you are – just people taking this exam in general are younger, and the majority younger than I am). I only plan to work another 10 years or so – spent the majority of my life being a wife and mother homeschooling my 5 children. Therefore, this is my 2nd career. I don't plan on working for the Big 4 or anything like that. I just like accounting and this has been a quiet goal of mine since I took my first accounting class when I was 20 years old.

    That being said, the CPA exams are not to be taken lightly. If you are going to do this, I think it makes sense to put your life on hold if you have to in order to get past them. Otherwise, they may drag on forever! They need your full attention! If you are married, your whole family has to be on board with you doing this and you have to make the commitment that you will do everything in your power to get through it as quickly as you can. Give yourself the best chance at passing by giving it everything you've got! Don't give up on yourself – you can do it if you want it bad enough!

    I just need someplace to vent a little. I'm studying for BEC, this week I didn't get much time in and was planning on having two almost full days this weekend. We have a family obligation for a few hours on Sunday. We got invited to a party tonight (about an hour and a half away) I told my husband I would go but wanted to come home after so I could study all day tomorrow and not end up getting home at 1pm tomorrow and wasting half my day! He wants to stay over. Now I want to stay home, study tonight and tomorrow and forget the party all together. He says he is supportive but I'm feeling let down that this party is such a big deal. Especially since I was willing to go for a little while and come home tonight.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

    This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
