As momto5 has already stated…..Chapter 2 and 3 SUCK! Just PLOW your way through them. You are able to catch up any time you are behind in chapters 4,5, and 6. I felt the same way but still finished with a week and a half for review!

AnonymousInactive@Netsforce – I didn't use any lectures for BEC and think i did well (no score yet though). So far I have been studying using only the Becker text and flashcards supplemented with CPAexcel MCQ's for the exam sections that I have taken.
For BEC, I only made it thought the first 2 sections of the Becker text. I did get through all the flashcards once though. I'm hoping that was enough. I took my exam on 8/30/12. Felt like I nailed the written comps. The exam questions felt easy compared to the CPA excel questions (this has been my experience with all sections so far). Hopefully they weren't easy because I was getting them all wrong. We'll see in a few days.
To me it seemed like most of the questions were conceptual. When there were calculation problems, they were not all that complex of calculations. First testlet was easy, second was hard (guessing based simply on the fact that the length of the problems nearly doubled), third testled was hard if I had to guess. Again, even on the hard testlets the problems that did have calculations were not overly complex.

sdgh1826MemberThanks Jpgrocho & momto5! I was reading your previous posts, it is good to know that we all struggle. It should pay off in the end. I'm making sure that I invest enough time and effort and get it over with. Like everyone else, BEC is not the section I want to re-study.

JpgrochoParticipantSeeing how I honestly believe that I will be taking BEC again towards the end of October….(after I take my AUD exam for the 3rd time), I REALLY wish they would put an excel function into the testlet for BEC multiple choice calculations……Just saying.
Hoping somehow this request gets relayed to the examiners. ha

This may be bad advice but here is what I did for chapters 2 and 3. I went through the questions and completed all the questions that did not involve calculations. I felt like that gave me a better understanding of what the calculations were wanting and the theory behind the calculations. Then, I went back through the chapter and completed all the calculations. I'm not sure if that is the best thing to do but I think it really helped me.

silliepandaMemberThanks Jpgrocho! That is actually what I am trying to do. I am struggling with the overhead calculations in chapter 2. I guess I just need to focus, but I just find it hard to concentrate. Working all day and studying most of the night seems to be burning me out.
BEC - TOO MANY FAILS TO LIST! July 2015 I WILL GET IT!
AUD - AUG 2015- NEVER PASSED!
FAR - LOST CREDIT
REG - PASSEDSeptember 6, 2012 at 10:50 pm #467566
