Lucky for me, my Prometric center was open today after being closed for 3 days due to the hurricane. At first, I was hoping they’d be open on my test day. While my wish came true, I now wish they were closed. This test was a nightmare. I’ve gone over EVERYTHING in the Wiley book and everything Phil Yaeger highlighted. About 70% of the material I painstakingly studied were not on the freakin’ test!! I had to stop for a moment to wonder if I was even taking the right exam. About half of my multiple choice questions came out of left field. However, my Simulations weren’t so bad, which is something not many people here said. It was the mutiple choice that I found difficult. And I don’t even know if the testlets got harder. All 3 Multiple Choice testlets were extremely hard, IMHO. I’m so screwed. Here I was studying for 300 hours and I’m probably going to end up with a nice big fat 50!!! I’m so depressed. I don’t understand why the CPA exam is like this. It’s supposed to be on material that’s covered in the Wiley book. But it looks like they are testing on material that Wiley and Yaeger didn’t even cover.

In order to pass this, I’d either have to be one heck of a lucky guy or there’s going to be a nice big curve. But I seriously doubt this will happen. So, I’m expecting to have to retake REG. I’m at a loss for words right now. I don’t even know if any additional studying would’ve helped. I’m so annoyed. This is ridiculous!!

Now I will say it, I TOLD YOU SO.

The exam was crazy. Now I have to concentrate on BEC knowing that I still have REG on my shoulders. I'm going to have to work A LOT harder now. I'm going to try and work my butt off even more and see if I can take both of these next quarter and pass. This is insane!

@keeptrying- You are an inspiration. I really look up to you because really, it's not whether you win or lose, but it's about how bad you lose and are willing to keep on trying. You obviously keep trying and so will I. I will not let those FAR and AUD credits expire. Starting today, I'm putting in an extra hour of studying EACH day and on weekends, I will squeeze in extra hours. It sounds insane but that's what we gotta do to tackle this beast! But right now, I have to finish BEC since I already started it. I will work hard and get that out of the way on the first attempt. I can do this!!

Sorry to hear you didn't pass REG CPAMAN. I also scored a low 60 on FAR and hopefully and we will beat this cpa exam beast in the next testing window.

@Minimorty- The reason I knew I failed is because of the first testlet. When Testlet 1 is difficult…. not good. When I failed FAR and AUD previously, that's exactly how I felt. When I took them last quarter and passed, the first Testlet was a breeze on both of them. Then Testlets 2 and 3 became difficult.

When taking these exams, the nightmare is supposed to begin in Testlet 2. That's normal. But when the nightmare begins in Testlet 1, you know it's a bad sign!

@CPAMan…..I hope you didn't take offense to people mentioning you on FB…….You have a whole community of supporters! I'm so sorry you didn't do well. There are no words that make it easier…..so i'll say the ubiquitous don't give up….but we all know you will pass next time.

What study materials did you use?

I used Wiley and Yaeger.

I'm thinking of buying the Gleim software along with the book, but I'm afraid the book might get outdated soon as I'm sure they'll probably have a 2012 version out in a few months. I probably will buy it anyway because I need another type of material as I think Wiley was extremely light in certain areas that were heavily tested.

CPAMan, they send it to you for the small fee of shipping and I think that's like $15 to update their material….I have Gleim….I actually have a small library of Becker and Gleim books. Along with Ninja Notes, a Yeager Cram, some flashcards, audio cds….

Failed also went from a 74 to 59 in REG.. I am so defeated right now. But I have to keep trying, will have a go at REG again in Nov 2011
