Took REG today. It was a nightmare!!! - Page 2

Lucky for me, my Prometric center was open today after being closed for 3 days due to the hurricane. At first, I was hoping they’d be open on my test day. While my wish came true, I now wish they were closed. This test was a nightmare. I’ve gone over EVERYTHING in the Wiley book and everything Phil Yaeger highlighted. About 70% of the material I painstakingly studied were not on the freakin’ test!! I had to stop for a moment to wonder if I was even taking the right exam. About half of my multiple choice questions came out of left field. However, my Simulations weren’t so bad, which is something not many people here said. It was the mutiple choice that I found difficult. And I don’t even know if the testlets got harder. All 3 Multiple Choice testlets were extremely hard, IMHO. I’m so screwed. Here I was studying for 300 hours and I’m probably going to end up with a nice big fat 50!!! I’m so depressed. I don’t understand why the CPA exam is like this. It’s supposed to be on material that’s covered in the Wiley book. But it looks like they are testing on material that Wiley and Yaeger didn’t even cover.

In order to pass this, I’d either have to be one heck of a lucky guy or there’s going to be a nice big curve. But I seriously doubt this will happen. So, I’m expecting to have to retake REG. I’m at a loss for words right now. I don’t even know if any additional studying would’ve helped. I’m so annoyed. This is ridiculous!!

Sorry, I just had to vent.

That's tough, CPAMan. Did you read the thread with the stories of those who came out feeling they failed and really passed? So many people felt/feel the same way you do, thinking they totally failed and they didn't, so there's a good chance you passed, even with a great mark. Don't get upset about this and let it get you down. You have to just put this aside and go on to the next thing.

    I hope you passed!

@Acct- You're right. It's tough to move ahead and study BEC, but I'll try hard.

CPAMan, you are forgetting. Nobody, not even the CIA, knows how thy grade these tests. I felt the exact same way for FAR and I still can't believe my score!

    Aud 4/2/11 - 86
    Far 5/27/11 - 83
    Bec 7/1/11 - 82
    Reg 8/13/11 - 86! It's over!!!!

    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60

@ExhaustedCPA- You could be right. With FAR and AUD, I walked out thinking that I probably passed, but just barely made it. I ended up with an 89 and 87 respectively. So, let's hope REG ends up in the high 70s at least. I can only pray!!!

    @CPAMan

When's your BEC? You're starting to study already?

Last June I did not have much patience to study while waiting for the score releases, so good luck!

I also scheduled BEC (tomorrow!) for after REG (took end of July). BEC is supposedly easier…it's on less material. But (as I wrote in the thread ‘It's August 29 already?!?') I unfortunately lost steam…

yea for like a month, because you know the score didnt posted until a month later, so during my spare time, i just re-study, that was my second time, the first time i thought i did extremely well, i fail by 3 points, so this time around, i did extremely horrible, thinking that i bomb this for sure, i send 50 dollar and got my date, BOOM i got passing score for both Audit and FARE, i thought i was dreaming, lozl, so i only have REG left.

My test is tomorrow and i hope it will be over, this is a nightmare.

@Acct- I didn't schedule yet, but if all goes well, I'm hoping to take BEC at the end of October.

@CPAMan – I had a simiular experience with the MCQs. I felt like 80% of my studying was for nothing. I just got tested over and over on the same thing and in tons of detail. I felt like I guessed all of the answers. Awful!!!!

My sims were also bad though, so I guess you have one up on me. lol

    FAR: 71, 77
    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

    Ok, best of luck!

It seems like lots of people didn't have the greatest of experiences with REG now, so there just may be an amazing curve!
