Lucky for me, my Prometric center was open today after being closed for 3 days due to the hurricane. At first, I was hoping they’d be open on my test day. While my wish came true, I now wish they were closed. This test was a nightmare. I’ve gone over EVERYTHING in the Wiley book and everything Phil Yaeger highlighted. About 70% of the material I painstakingly studied were not on the freakin’ test!! I had to stop for a moment to wonder if I was even taking the right exam. About half of my multiple choice questions came out of left field. However, my Simulations weren’t so bad, which is something not many people here said. It was the mutiple choice that I found difficult. And I don’t even know if the testlets got harder. All 3 Multiple Choice testlets were extremely hard, IMHO. I’m so screwed. Here I was studying for 300 hours and I’m probably going to end up with a nice big fat 50!!! I’m so depressed. I don’t understand why the CPA exam is like this. It’s supposed to be on material that’s covered in the Wiley book. But it looks like they are testing on material that Wiley and Yaeger didn’t even cover.

In order to pass this, I’d either have to be one heck of a lucky guy or there’s going to be a nice big curve. But I seriously doubt this will happen. So, I’m expecting to have to retake REG. I’m at a loss for words right now. I don’t even know if any additional studying would’ve helped. I’m so annoyed. This is ridiculous!!

Sorry, I just had to vent.

I really don't know, lol. Just pray. Because your multiple choice questions could by anything. Could be on the main topics or it could be from topics not in your review book. How to study for the latter, I don't know…

I started another thread about this, but I have 3 days to cram…do you suggest focusing mostly on mastering the tax topics? Also, whats your opinion on studying for the sims? Should I review each one in Becker and Wiley or just continue focusing on know the subject matter since the exam sim will be out of this world…?

Very hard to tell…. As I said, all my 3 REG exams were completely different experiences. Your exam could be anything.

I forgot to mention something else in regards to my experience…. Testlet 2 had a lot wordier questions. In fact, one was so wordy that I actually had to scroll down to see the choices. My question was THAT lengthy. Testlet 3 was also tricky and tough in its own way, but had fewer lengthier questions. Don't know what kind of sign that is. I'm not sure what to think about this. I'm at a loss for words…

@CPAMan – what did you do differently to increase your AUD score by 40, and FAR by 28??? Nice Job. Just wondering if it was a different review course, more time, crams, etc.

    Starting all over.

    FAR - 11/27/13
    AUD - 1/4/14

Basically, I put more time into studying….

With REG, nothing seems to be working tho.

CPAMan, it sounds like you passed. I wouldn't study if I were you 🙂

I passed with a 76 with 2 sims I knew nothing of and barely touched because I had only 50 minutes for the sims and no time for research (apart from the research sim).

The rest of the sims were lengthy and involved quite a few calculations and I'm not sure I got all of them right.

My testlets were getting progressively harder and this was the only time I could tell, because they took so much time.

@CPAMan- Congrats, man! You are done! Take some time off and enjoy it. iI don't think you should keep studying either. You only have to wait two weeks anyway, right? Give yourself a break.

My only fear is that my confidence on my performance on the MCQs doesn't feel nearly as good as how I felt last time. Too many MCQs I had to narrow down to 2 choices and then got stuck. Last time, I literally felt like I kicked some butt as I knew almost all the questions. Yet, I wasn't Stronger, only Comparable. So, the fact that I had some doubts about the MCQs today bugs me. I just don't think this exam is curved much.

Anyways, yeah. I'll take a break. I'm all stressed out as it is. I should rest.

CPAman – You used Wiley right? do you feel like wiley simulations better prepared you for the simulations this time around? I'm freaking out! I take my test tomorrow. I will post my experience tomorrow night.

I think you passed! You'll find out soon…just take a break. Are you going to lose any parts if you don't pass? =/

I think the Sims in the Wiley book and software are the best. I'm not crazy about the Gleim Sims.

And I have until 12/31/12 (3 more attempts) to pass REG or I lose both FAR and AUD.
