Took REG today. It was a nightmare!!! - Page 8

Lucky for me, my Prometric center was open today after being closed for 3 days due to the hurricane. At first, I was hoping they’d be open on my test day. While my wish came true, I now wish they were closed. This test was a nightmare. I’ve gone over EVERYTHING in the Wiley book and everything Phil Yaeger highlighted. About 70% of the material I painstakingly studied were not on the freakin’ test!! I had to stop for a moment to wonder if I was even taking the right exam. About half of my multiple choice questions came out of left field. However, my Simulations weren’t so bad, which is something not many people here said. It was the mutiple choice that I found difficult. And I don’t even know if the testlets got harder. All 3 Multiple Choice testlets were extremely hard, IMHO. I’m so screwed. Here I was studying for 300 hours and I’m probably going to end up with a nice big fat 50!!! I’m so depressed. I don’t understand why the CPA exam is like this. It’s supposed to be on material that’s covered in the Wiley book. But it looks like they are testing on material that Wiley and Yaeger didn’t even cover.

In order to pass this, I’d either have to be one heck of a lucky guy or there’s going to be a nice big curve. But I seriously doubt this will happen. So, I’m expecting to have to retake REG. I’m at a loss for words right now. I don’t even know if any additional studying would’ve helped. I’m so annoyed. This is ridiculous!!

Sorry, I just had to vent.

@goodluck2everyone –Then go to a different thread my man. OBVIOUSLY you have not taken REG.

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I'm studying for REG and know how difficult it is. But let me ask you a few questions:

    1) have all the people whining in this thread gotten their scores yet?

    2) and if you failed, what good does it do to spend hours on here whining about how hard it is?

No one said becoming a CPA was easy. In fact, I think these tests should be harder because CPAs are respected and relied upon to make difficult decisions (often with heavy consequences)

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

@goodluck2everyone- The exam covered questions that were not in my review book. I know because I studied everything in my Wiley book and ended up getting foreign questions on my exam. And just to be sure, I tried checking my Wiley book after the exam and cannot find the answer, so I have no idea if I guessed them right. This is why if I failed, I'm going to invest in a different review, possibly Gleim.

When you take REG, you'll see what all this whining was able. I studied 300 hours and possibly scored a 60. After spending that kinda time studying and getting that kind of score, you can see why I will be upset.

I don't know about you but I smell troll crap.

@CPAMan—I think you didn't see a lot of the material in your Wiley because the ethics ancillary was so heavily tested. Becker did a great job covering it, but they marked the material as “ancillary” so a lot of people bypassed reading the information.

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

@Peanut- Let's hope a lot of people bypassed reading it. Then that means we'll get a nice big curve.

@goodluck2everyone why would anyone ever post anything with that view point? People arent here whining or complaining, they are here because its a place where people all trying to accomplish the same thing can learn and share with one another their experiences, worries, congratulations…..don't be mean. @CPAMAN……..you and i have been talking for weeks now about this REG exam, and I'm with you here, I studied my tail off and I' don't think i passed, but we'll see. I hope we did though, 🙂

If you found those questions out of left field, then chances are plenty of other people did as well. There's a reason the scores are curved, so seriously stop whining.

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

@goodluck2everyone- Not really because everyone used different material. But we'll just wait and see exactly how “curved” REG is. I'll be back for more whining when I get my 60. 😉

Who says that the CPA exam should be harder? Most ridiculous thing I've heard all day…

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @ goodluck

I would sit for a couple more exams, particularly FAR and REG, before I declared the CPA exam too easy. Just my thoughts.

Ok, looks like the AICPA is not releasing scores today. So, they're delaying this on purpose. So, may I continue my whining?
