AnonymousInactiveHi everyone, I'm about to start my FAR journey today. This is the last test that I have to pass but I know it won't be easy. Does anyone have any advice while I'm just starting out? I've read a lot of this thread so I have a general idea but I'm mainly thinking about things that people wish they knew when they were starting out. Anything is helpful. Thanks everyone and good luck to everyone on their journey to slay the beast as well 🙂

Onmyway82MemberHELP!!! I am currently studying for FAR for the 3rd time. I am remembering everything alot better than the 2nd time, since I just took it in February, but I am still worried because I have so much to learn again. I am using Becker and reading the whole book again, watching the lectures, doing the MCQ and I will do the Final Review a week before my test. I am scheduled to take the exam in August so I should have plenty of time, but I really need to pass or my BEC score will expire. I was considering getting the Wiley Test bank that I have seen people talk about. I haven't used anything other than Becker for the other sections but I really want to make sure I will pass this time, so anyone that has any advice please let me know.

AnonymousInactiveI feel ya! I have only used Becker in the past for FAR but I now have the Ninja Notes and the Wiley Testbank. To me, if you have failed twice using the same study material, it is time to branch out a little more. Doing the same thing over expecting a different result is the definition of insantiy.
I have just begun my restudy for FAR. I have listened to all the lectures and am doing quizzes in the Wiley Test Bank every day and throughly reading my notes and the Ninja Notes about every other day. At the end of the week I take a simulated exam in Becker to see what my weak areas are. The week of my test I will take a simulated exam in Wiley and/or Becker every other day. This is the method I took for REG but unfortunately I won't know if it worked until the 22nd. I am hoping to sit for FAR on the 27 but we will see. I do recommend getting the Ninja Notes and Testbank. If you can only afford one, I think the notes are more helpful for my style of learning.
Good Luck!

I just ordered the Wiley Test Bank, I figured what the heck. It will give me lots more questions to do since I am almost memorizing the Becker questions. I haven't really heard of the Ninja notes except on the forum a little bit. What are they like?

AnonymousInactiveI have the flashcards from Becker for FAR(although I did not purchase them, accounting firm did), and I found them somewhat helpful. Its nice to have them when you have spare moments at work or sitting around somewhere. They are great for reviewing formulas and the like. Despite this, I haven't found the flashcards for audit as useful (which is what Im studying for now). Most of the cards are overly wordy and I feel like my time is better spent just repeating MC questions in Becker and Wiley.
I'm not sure if you can buy the Becker cards per section, so you might want to look into Jeff's Ninja flashcards, as you can buy those for each section if you so please. I believe they are cheaper than Becker too if you're strapped for cash.

AnonymousInactiveSo, I am new on here and it seems like people give some great feedback, which I am in desperate need of!
I have FAR scheduled for tomorrow and will finish Chapter 10 by tonight. Which leaves probably about 4 hours for review between tonight and tomorrow morning. Has anyone passed FAR without doing the final review, or doing very little final review? I have read all the chapters, watched the lectures, done the multiple choice and SIMS, but only 1 or 2 progress tests in the beginning. Any advice people have would be awesome!! Thanks!!

AnonymousInactiveI need some advice.
I just took my first section, FAR, this past Friday. I'm using Becker and I chose the online format which has me on a schedule of FARB to finish up by early October. I also begin working for a major accounting firm my mid-October so I would LOVE to get this all done before then. The thing is, I want to make a contingency plan in case I didn't pass FAR. I've already started studying for AUD which I'm scheduled to take 7/3 and I won't find out about my FAR score until 6/7. I haven't registered for my last 2 sections yet. Regardless, I'm going to continue studying for AUD and take it in July. The way I see it there are 2 options if I don't pass FAR:
1) Once I've finished AUD, I go back to FAR and take it sometime within that July-Aug testing window. I would hope that I would still remember a few things. The thing is, I would be pushing back my last 2 sections by a month or so. I don't even know how that works with Becker. Would I have to switch to self-study?
2) Keep going with my set schedule and retake FAR after October. I just fear I will have forgotten EVERYTHING.
Has this happened to any of you? What do you suggest I do?

maaroufrnMemberAwinans–I am kind of in the same situation except that I am not on a specific schedule. However, I am taking FAR on 05/24 and will know the results hopefully by 06/07. Of course I am keeping the option of not passing this exam open. If I do not pass it, I am planning to retake it on 07/07 and will take AUD on 07/28. I am thinking since I already studied for FAR, I already know the material and it would be a second review, so it should not need that long of a time. Also it is better to take it and finish it all together before AUD. During the month of June I will have a plan of studying for both at the same time (that is if I do not pass FAR). You can schedule for BEC and REG one in August and one in early October. I think this could be a doable plan if you commit yourself to it. I am doing this and I have a full time job with 2 little boys (2 and 5). My husband's support is of course a big factor. Good luck to you and hopefully you passed the FAR and won't have to worry about it again 🙂

rendittMember@Awinans – first of all, I hope you passed FAR so you won't need a Plan B.
Personally, I would re-take FAR early July, keep the rest of the schedule and do Audit at the end. If you wait too long to re-take FAR, you will lose a lot of knowledge.
@Maaroufrn – that's a pretty agressive schedule but good luck to you!
