    Hi,

Regarding SIMs, if we click of shaded cell and accidently filled in the shaded cell with description provided in the box, for example, gain on sale of equipment. Later if we realised it should not be there and want to delete those description out from shaded cell. How do we do it?

    Thanks in advance

today after practicing Becker Sims I had the same question. I think its not possible to delete it. The only thing we can do is to put Zero in front of it. Though am not sure.

Maybe some one took the exam can help!!

From my experience on Becker SIMS. If there is a shaded cell, something is supposed to go there. Usually its a click and fill blank not a type the answer blank. On the real exam, if you've typed words into a shaded cell you should be able to just backspace to delete them. If its a drop down box the very top choice should be blank. Hope that helps!

Can someone recommend a video for FAR? I would like to use a video, but don't know which one to get. Any suggestions?

Just to reiterate the point made two posts prior, you can delete a dropdown choice by clicking on the cell and clicking delete. I too experienced that flaw in Becker's software, but the exam software corrected the shortcoming.

From my experience, I love to watch Roger CPA review classes. Those keep me awake and full of energy all the time. Further, I am fan of old school where white board is my best way of learning.

You my have a demo on YouTube and then compare and decide.

    Good luck buddy 🙂

    @jem242

I love Roger too…I agree with Ali. He is very energetic, it helps to keep the enthusiasm going.

    @Hopeful_cpa

I have been thinking about you and hope that FAR is going well…how do you feel? By March 7th you could be 3/4 done, just imagine a summer without studying! I am liking my time without studying…totally catching up on 30 Rock. Keeping me laughing for sure.

    Good luck!

TEACHERS…. i will put Bob Monette up against any CPA teacher you can throw at me and i like my chances of you liking Bob Better.

FAR IS A COMPLETE MONSTER…. Bisk book has 20 chapters… plan 4-8 hours per chapter to complete videos reading multiple choice.

i got in order of priority left… consolidated Financials, Gov, Non Prof, and then if time IFRS & Financial stmt analysis…. I have been told that the book may not be helpful because ifrs is so new so which is why its of a lower priority then the others on my list

I am also GOING FOR THE GOLD…. or my favorite Diving for the Pylon… on Feb 29th…. i have put in somewhere between 60-70 hours since Jan 19th reg exam on FAR studying with probably 25-35 hours to go between now and feb 29th. all while working tax season hours including saturdays 9-4. i am praying i can remember enough of the stuff i studied farther away from test day to pull it thru…. TEST 15 TO END IT ALL!! PLEASE!!! (i dont want to study another 3 months!) cause when you have 1 test to go and will lose credit may 31…

and obviously im going to have to schedule for middle to late may to give myself max time to try and do this… But im praying to end it all next week…… 4+ years and 14 tests later… i look to end this next week,

the only thing i am going to try and do the night before the test is to skim the notes and hope with what i know…my memory will get jogged and updated with all the stuff i studied earlier and keep that fresh as well.

    Good Luck To all!

    FAR Exam Expert,

I have questions regarding the FAR exam Structure. I understood that there are 3 testelts and 1 SIMS (7Questions). I wonder what is the order of it? Like you get to do test 1 then 2 & 4 then SIMS ? or You can jump directly to SIMS first? because i am planing to tackle SIMS questions first then MCQs, does it work like that?

    Thanks in advance

@ CPA88888 : Unfortunately, it does NOT work like that.

    MCQ's first, then SIMS.

    Good luck!

I've been studying and am on my 3rd week of studying. I've studied 3 out of 9 of Becker's chapters. I've finally gotten my NTS. There is 7 weeks left before the 1st week of April begins. is 5 weeks good enough to finish the rest of the chapters and spend the other 2 weeks reviewing and doing all MCs/Sims? I was thinking

Week 1 (current wk) – finish chap 4 and 5

    Week 2 – chap 6 & 7

    Week 3 – chap 8

    week 4 – chap 9

    week 5 – review chap 1-5

week 6 & 7 – go through all MCs and Sims

I should be able to have about 6-7 weeks to take another section near the end of May, most likely AUD.

SIM practice is very important, regardless how well you know the material, practice and learn how to READ SIMs faster.

Just got FAR 76 (71, 74, 73 before) and spending more time on SIMs made the difference.

Still can't believe finally passed this crazy test.

    BEC 77 (2010)exp. 79 (2012)done!
    FAR 71, 69, 73, 76 (2012)
    REG 63, 72, 82 (2012)
    AUD 66, 60?, 91 (2012)?!!

    Ethics 90% (2012)

FAR was a beast. Took it for the first time on 2/13 and found out I passed today (80). I studied for about 3 months (while working) for this test and I'm glad I studied that long. The first testlet was great, 2nd not so great, and 3rd was better. I made a mistake and only left about an hour and ten minutes for the sims. I was struggling just to fill in answers the final ten minutes or so and ran out of time. I wasted time on some of the more difficult MC questions which was a rookie mistake on my part. Walking out I truly had no idea how I'd done on the exam. I thought it could have been anywhere from a 60 to passing and I was pumped today when I saw that beautiful 80 flash before my eyes. I'm taking Yaeger and I think its pretty good, especially Cindy Simpson. The crazy part about FAR is that there are so many modules to study. There were modules that I studied for hours and had zero questions on the exam (Cash Flows, Debt Restructuring, Derivatives). I know I probably got lucky but oh well. One down, three to go!

    FAR - 80
    AUD - 78
    REG - 78
    BEC - 84

Materials - Yaeger Home Study, Ninja Notes

    Done!

Felt like hell after taking FAR last Feb 6th. BUT I got a 82 today!!! Could not believe what I was seeing in front of my eyes. I literally cried because how horrible the exam made me feel and I still passed with a decent score. Soooooo sending the good vibes to everybody! Good luck!!

    FAR - 82 (2/6/2012)
    REG - 75 (phew!)(4/16/2012)
    BEC - 77 (5/31/2012)
    AUD - 61 (7/17/2012), WAITING!!! (10/15/2012)
