I just got home from taking FAR. I am so unbelievably discouraged. I studied for 2 months. I felt prepared and still I walked out feeling defeated. I don't understand it. I can't even pinpoint an area that I needed work. The SIMS were horrible. I didn't even finish 2. I don't know it I can fit another try in before busy season. I'm going crazy. Ugh I just don't know.

    REG (66) 80
    BEC (74) 75
    AUD 78
    FAR November 2011

j214 I feel your pain, I got 74 (7/11) n my SIM was crazy, I had no clue on most of the SIM what they were asking. To add to my pain my computer froze loss time and could not finish 2 SIM. If you did your MCQ and the 4 SIM ok you will pass.

    Reg - Pass
    Far - 74, 11/29/11
    Bec - 66, 1/12
    Aud - 2/12

Well finished FAR a couple hours ago and thought it was pretty tough but doable.

    Testlet 1 – Very Good

    Testlet 2 – Very Good

    Testlet 3 – Decent

SIMS – Got the two research, and was only uncomfortable with one TBS.

My worry is that I only saw a change in difficulty on the 3rd testlet.

I sure hope I passed FAR on the first try!

My advice….study everything you possibly can, leave no gaps!

    BEC - 60, 71, 79
    AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
    REG - 74, 76
    FAR - 75

Yaeger Review for all except my last AUD score (Roger)!

Ok to all of you guys who felt that the sims were horrible…some good news!!!! I took my test on 11/3 and I left out 2 sims – didn't have time. I didn't even begin to understand the research question so I guessed – that leaves us with 4 of which one I only completed half and the other three I did completely. I knew the multiple choice well but with the sims as they were I didn't even doubt that I would fail. Tonight I checked to see if I got a 47 or a 62 and what do I see????? 82.

Ha Ha I am on a high!!!!!!! First test down 3 to go.

What changed for you that made you pass? Did you feel like your knowledge increased or did you get the test that matched your skill base?

I test on FAR Saturday. I don't want to repeat this exam again. I'm running out of time.

well I know I'm not the only one who got their score today—and as I suspected, I did not pass FAR. I didn't major in accounting, it was finance–I graduated in 2002, I should be able to stomach this blow okay I think..I guess I have to reveal since everybody else does here—the score:

    53

    ouch

Oh how inspired I was temporarily by those of you reporting a feeling of defeat upon leaving Prometric and then astonished with a pass—but I have to believe I wasn't the only non-passer who also thought I'd bombed…

I saw where I was weak, and now it's time to regroup, refocus and conquer. I'll get to hang out with Cindy, Phil and Gary some more–I'll learn a lot more about IFRS and governmental accounting!

sorry for the dear diary tone–I guess I expected it…for those of you who've had to try again, I respect your drive and courage, and would gladly welcome encouragement and advice……..

and congratulations out there to those of you who did it!

Futurevalue- If it's any comfort, you should not feel alone in this as many (probably most) of us on this forum have felt the sting of a non-passing score at least once, if not multiple times. After the initial sting, I believe that you will do just what you indicated- “regroup, focus and conquer.” It may help to think of your first attemt at FAR as a recon mission of sorts. From what you wrote it appears that is the mindset that you indeed have. When you approach FAR the next time you will have had a chance to work on any identified weaknesses, address any timing issues, and you will have a better overall feel for the exam/comfort level.

I am waiting on a FAR score as well, so I may need to take my own advice on this. I think the upcomming holidays may help me to gain some perspective that while this exam is important, it is not life or death. Try to give yourself a chance to recharge, and then get after it again!!!

I think you should get a letter from you BOA, I am going to start studying next Moday. Last test window I passed AUD, and got the letter one month after that, so I am not waiting. As other people have recommended, I will start studying from scratch as if it was the first time. Let's do this!!!

    Good Luck!!!

    Done 😉

Hi, I am planning to either take FAR either Q1 or Q2 of 2012, and I would like to know if I purchase 2011 Wiley/Becker material, will it still be relevant by then. Or should I wait for 2012 material. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!!!

    Hello everyone,

I have passed all sections except for FAR. I just received my score back from taking it 11/9 and received a 73 which was what I also scored the previous time. I can only take this one more time before losing credit for all 3 exams i've passed! Please help!!!!!!! I have used Becker self study would anyone suggest I purchase Wiley, Yeager or any other tools? I'm desperate to finish FAR before time is up! Thank you!!!!!!
