@Zee. The exam was…the exam, lol. The MCQs were ok. They didn't seem to get harder, but they did take a little more time to answer each one as I moved forward with the occasional “wtf” question. There were a ton of them that I could answer right away without thinking about it. I think I ended up with more conceptual based than calculations.

The Sims were tricky, but if you leave yourself enough time you can always go through the authoritative literature and hope you find something clear enough to answer your question for you. I ended up having around 2 hours to do the sims so I essentially had a bad date with the Codification during the last part of it.

FAR is a tough one to tell, but hopefully I will have good news come August 21st. Good luck on your exam! I hope this is your last time!! 🙂

    REG - 5/21/2012 - 85
    FAR - 7/24/2012 - 86
    BEC - 8/27/2012 - 85
    AUD - 10/5/2012 - 72....rematch 1/3/13 (waiting)

Hey Nimmle- Thanks for the words! I've calmed down since yesterday and moving forward with finishing ch.9 and 10 review today. I am going to do a progress test after I finish up those chapters and tomorrow I will review my weak areas and take the 2011 and 2012 AICPA released questions as a test and use the SIMS for Becker FInal Exam 2 and just grade myself. I am comfortable with the material, but I just need to find that confidence in myself.

    FAR – 59, 7/27

    AUD – 75- PASSED

    REG – 68, 81- PASSED

    BEC – 65, 69, 78- PASSED

Hi all, i just have a question in chapter seven about calculating the weighted average of shares outstanding..i am using becker software..as u know in the book there is 2 methods to solve such questions ..

i think that the stock split a little bit confusing ..

for example in the homework MCQ , i solved question 11 correctly..but always fail at question 13..the point is that i don't want to memorize..i want to understand..

if we want to solve the question like the first method in the book..how will it be?

    Okay FAR Ninjas —

Here I go…. today I started studying for FAR. I took the AUD exam 7/21 and expect to receive my score around 8/21 or there abouts. I took a week off and now I am ready to start FAR. I took FAR about eight months ago and did not pass moved on and now I am back to tackle the beast. Wishing everyone who is studying now the best of luck.

Need some quick advice. I just finished going through the Becker final review for FAR after failing by two points last month. I went through all the questions, lectures, and sims my first time. I am taking this thing tomorrow and am hoping for some guidance on what to study today. Any tips??

    BEC - 74, 80, LC, passed again
    AUD - 72, 66, 81
REG - 79, LC, passed again
FAR - a ridiculous amount of times, 11/27

maybe you still have time to do progress test twice (2hr for test, 1hr for review). just review wrong ones or you were not sure. Then skim through the textbook, especially your weak area. just tim geary highlighted parts are fine.

Thanks! I've been doing a bunch of 20 question progress tests (that's about as long as I can focus right now) and reviewing the incorrect ones. Going through the textbook is an awesome idea actually–starting that next!

    BEC - 74, 80, LC, passed again
    AUD - 72, 66, 81
REG - 79, LC, passed again
FAR - a ridiculous amount of times, 11/27

Does anyone know how to calculation avoidable interest? I have taken Becker review material, and there's one simulation problem like that. Please let me know if some one knows about this concept.

    Thank you.

WOW! I started studying for FAR this week and I am listening to the lectures now. F-2 has soo many little details to remember! I wonder sometimes how am I going to retail all of this information?

Okay FAR study buddies — where are you? I look forward to reading how everyone else is doing. Hearing what road blocks you have come across helps me to look at what you are experiencing and makes me look at subjects in a way I may not have before!

Right now I am listening to lectures and am on F3 using the Becker study review. I am wondering if I should get the FAR final review.

What is or is not working for you?

I got good advice to watch the lectures by topics then do mcqs before you move on to another topic. This helps to solidfy your understanding of the material and pinpoint weak areas. I am currently reading chap 10 and doing mcgs.

I have the final review and flashcards – haven't done anything with the final review materials but the flashcards help. Hopefully by this evening I should be done with chap 10 and will do a comprehensive review of chaps 1-10 using the flashcards.

OK So i failed FAR twice now with the SAME SCORE! First of all I don't even know how that is possible. Secondly, I have friends all around me that have been studying much less than me passing with high eighties and nineties. I have no idea what to do. I have been putting in around 25 to 30 hours a week and have down Becker MC's over and over and over. I have gotten 90-100 on the practice tests the second time I studied and I'm still failing. I have used the flashcards and memorized them as much as possible. I don't know what to do anymore. I have used NINJA notes but have only read through them. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am completely lost as to how I am going to pass this exam. 🙁

I'm Studying for FAR right now and using Becker's self study. I'm just finishing up with Chapter 10 and will do a cumulative review this entire week to prepare for my exam next sat (I have nothing else to do but study). Does anyone have any suggestion for the final review process? I was just planning on reviewing notes/flashcards and doing the progress tests/practice exams. Also, I was wondering how helpful the ninja notes are in addition to program like Becker? would it be worth purchasing?

@ Tia — I am using the Becker study review 2011 material. I checked with Becker and they said that I should be fine as long as I go to their website and download any updates. My question is what is on chapter 10? I do not have a chapter 10.

@Oceanaire — It is hard not to be discouraged but keep going. Maybe add the Ninja Notes or audio if you have not already. I did that for AUD and I felt more confident on 7/15(awaiting score). Good Luck to you. This test is a beast!
