    Took BEC yesterday morning. The multiple choice questions were as expected; there were a handful of questions either on topics I had never heard of or in far more detail than my review materials covered (Becker). I left around 50 minutes for the WC's but ran out of time on my last one. I only finished about half of it. Thats what Im beating myself up over… I studied a solid 200 hours for this test, so hopefully things turn out okay in September.

    I swear to god I feel like I am from another planet or have no been in the same courses in college as everyone else.

    I cannot imagine passing BEC if chapter 3- Capital Management is all over the test..

    Can anyone tell me they honestly know everything and can solve all of these?

    Quickly losing hope in passing this section………

    @nickc

    I struggle with chapter 3 as well, but after you practice the MCQs for a while they start to make a bit more sense. I like to look at the % of things I know very well for BEC. I feel like I am well prepared for around 80% of the material; 10% of the material I am a bit shaky on and the remaining 10% I'm hoping to not see on the exam as I struggle very badly with it.

    Good luck Nick

    I did the same thing. A few days ago a ranted a bit about Becker's MCQs. They do help you in the long run though. It's frustrating to study the lectures so thoroughly and then have no change to get the MCQs correct.

    This is mainly why I feel (especially if one is short on time,) it is important to do as many mcqs as possible, and read why the answer is correct and the others are not (except when I feel it will mix me up!) Reading the explanations help so much, and assist in solving other questions.

    Don't lose hope in passing BEC. Of course these exams (and studying!) are going to be hard – So many people want to become CPAs that AICPA has to have some way of filtering who should become and who shouldn't. It's way (it seems) is seeing who can pass these lovely exams and figure out answers without necessarily remembering all the material.

    Good luck studying! I'm quite a bit behind, but just got home from work so hope to put in a few hours of lectures tonight.

    Hey guys thanks for the encouragement. I am on my 2nd time through same questions to reinforce the math and equations. Luckily I have not had to use my notes yet, and I am 47/50 so far. I am definitely feeling much better.

    It is possible to pass even if you run out of time on one of the WCs right? I mean didn't feel incredible about the MCQs on the test, but I certainly didn't feel awful either. I did all the Becker problems about 3Xs and scored 91% on the first final exam in Becker, then about 82% on the second final…If it came down to it would they really fail me cause I needed an extra 5 minutes on the last WC?
