    @Cev

    I know it is very tempting to switch review courses when it seems like you never can pass a section with a certain course. I've been using Becker and have had the same luck…I just took BEC for the 4th time in May. This last time around I almost broke down and bought Roger because I really liked his teaching style on the demo that was online. But, when I saw how much the admin fee was, I opted to stick with Becker. Obviously I'm really not one to speak on this topic because who knows if I actually passed the exam I just took.

    My general thoughts/feelings on the whole review course sitaution are that no matter what review course you use, the examiners are going to have stuff on there you won't know or be familiar with. It's just a matter of getting a review course that works with your study style and memorizing that puppy front to back. You have to remember that a lot of people passed this section with Becker and Yaeger…they both appear to be strong materials to use when reviewing for the exam. But, sometimes i think we get so frustrated that we're not getting the result we want we just switch. My advice to you is to stick with your Becker or Yaeger book; perhaps even a combination of the two because you're familiar with them now and come up wtih a study plan that works for you should your May exam not go well.

    Hello,

    Has anyone ever used Gleim to study for BEC? Gleim is the review course my firms offer but I can't find any posts on any board of people that have recently used this. I hear the books have way too much information so how do I know what material is important and what material is unnecessary? Has anyone had some really positive experiences with Yaeger and think I should shell out the 450 dollars of my tight budget for it?

    I'm about to start studying 5 hours a day so I could really use some guidance. Thanks!

    Hi, Ec8338.

    When I was in grad school (5 years ago now), I chose not to do the becker program (which is stressed to take on campus and held on campus) due to costs and ordered Gleim instead mainly because it was so much cheaper.

    My learning style and the gleim books do NOT work together. Even with their program I felt completely unprepared and ended up sucking it up and doing Becker years later. The Gleim books seemed to me to be more of a learning text book rather than a review course. The Becker books just fit well with how I learn, and how the cirriculum was in college. However, there is another college in the area who uses the Gleim books as text books for accounting classes – and these people seem to do great with the Gleim materials.

    Truth be told, you'd need to take a look at a couple pages of a Gleim book to determine if it is right for you. Look at a couple of pages from another course you're debating about and then make the call. It seems like many of these courses have sample tutorials online that you could look at. You also mentioned you work at a firm, check with your co-workers to see if any of them would have a book you could look at. I realize content probably changed, but the structure would still be the same.

    Check their websites, and even you tube for sample lectures. They're all respectible courses, it's just a matter of finding the right one for you.

    Wow I wrote a lot…here's hopeing my BEC written communications showed I can write.

I got an email from NASBA today asking me to do 100 question test in 3 hours on BEC….i already took the exam and I'm studying for AUD so I don't really have time. Just curious if anybody else received this request and if we get anything for doing it?

    My friend received the same e-mail. She had already passed BEC. Maybe this is a sign you passed?
