hey everybody, i took BEC twice last year, third time coming up on 5/26 and to be honest, all the questions in becker and the material are exactly the same!!! this is the most frustrating part because the last time i took the exam i could have sworn i passed it and killed it, but i walked out with a 69!!! i felt more comfortable taking BEC the last time than i did when i passed REG last year as well.

If we are all having the same issues with the exam, how are people passing? they are just getting more lucky than the rest of us?

all i can say is that i'm totally stressed out again, and chapter 5 can kiss my butt from becker.. this is a bunch of nonsense.

i was schduled to take BEC on 5/28 but i wussed out this morning an decided to take it early next window. i just don't feel comfortable with the material even though i've been studying since march. last thing i want to do is fail again

Just came back from BEC. What can I say. The questions were not as difficult as the becker questions. However, I got many SOX and COSO questions that were not covered at all in becker, and I literally had to guess. I am hoping that they were pretest questions. The second testlet I felt was definitely harder than my first testlet. Now here is my question to you guys: if my third testlet was easier than my second testlet is that sign that I failed????

i dont think you failed, but then again, the whole stupid thing is curved so who knows if you pass or not until you get the scores. i dont know why they cant just grade us on what we know and we dont know and leave the curve out of it.

Yes. Their whole way of grading is crazy. Btw, this is the first CPA part that I took. Would you wait until you get the score or start FAR next? Because if I failed, I want to take it over right a way.

Harry,

I started studying for FAR one week after taking BEC, because I want to be working towards something during the dead month. I figure to take FAR near the beginning of next window, and then most likely re-take BEC at the end of the window.

I suppose it depends on how much time you want to spend preparing for each exam and how you want to use the dead month.

@ Club Card. Keep it positive, how do you know that you will need to retake BEC. I just took it today. I can see myself retaking it as well. However, don't forget 12 m/c questions don't count. So, maybe we did pass. My problem was that becker didn't cover COSO and SOX and I got many questions on that.

@Harry, are you saying the COSO internal control framework and ERM material with Becker was not enough? I do not expect incredibly detailed questions such as what is section 302 of SOX, but I could be wrong about that. I am studying only with becker and take BEC 5/31. I know all the mnemonics from the book and was hoping that was sufficient.

Any advice for additional material or emphasis on certain becker portions?
