I'm taking BEC next week and starting to freak a little. This will be my third attempt – the first one didn't count since I didn't study 😉

The exam in 2010 didn't have near the number of calculations I had in February, so I was thrown off on my second attempt and rushed too much.

I think I am better prepared this time for the “junk drawer” of the CPA exam.

@kb24, I am using Becker and Wiley as well. I don't see how anyone goes through the Wiley book without a video lecture. It's way too detailed. Yeager breaks it down into manageable pieces and they explain it really well.

Hey everyone- I just got back from my 3rd attempt at BEC… it was very different than the last couple of times I took it in 2010. It was definitely a healthy mix of theory questions and math questions, and the essays were pretty straightforward. I felt really prepared going into the exam and felt the testlets were hard but not outrageous. I don't know if I should be excited or freaking out… *sigh* If I passed, I will be able to lay this thing to rest forever!

Hey everyone- I just got back from my 3rd attempt at BEC… it was very different than the last couple of times I took it in 2010. It was definitely a healthy mix of theory questions and math questions, and the essays were pretty straightforward. Took this monster today. Felt like I really knew my stuff, walked out of the exam wondering what hit me!! There were numerous questions that I haven't seen covered in any of my study materials. I also couldn't help but get slightly pissed off when I saw a typo in the directions of one of my WCs. I also had the exact same question word for word twice. Sure hope i got it right or that it was a pre-test question! Good luck to everyone taking this section! I thought it was much more difficult this time compared to last year. I wouldn't waste any time worrying about the written communications, my topics were pretty common basic stuff.

@ Ithinkican – Which review course did you use? I am taking this baster on Tuesday and using becker. I am hoping I pass since this is the first exam I am taking and I want to get off on the right foot. I took the becker final exam today and scored in the 80's. I hope that means I am ready.

Guys I am taking BEC Tuesday. I took both becker's final exams and scored a 88 on one and a 65 on the other one. I think I scored a 65 because I never saw some of these questions in the homework's, and I also didn't have enough time to answer them. Should I be concerned?

Harry! I used becker final exams and get on average 68-80. But the cpa result has been lower 70s for me. Just familiarize with more questions as much as possible and over & over.

I am taking BEC in 7 days and CANNOT seem to get a handle on Variances at the end of chapter 5…and advice/help? The 3 way variance is especially killing me, but so is every piece individually.
