AnonymousInactive@ Erin – I never even told you my theory….Everytime NASBA approves someone to start working on the exam, I think they go and buy another share of Starbucks stock. I live there when I study – only place I can go without too many distractions and GREAT coffee! I hope she gets it right too…sounds like I'll have to give her enough practice before the big day just to make sure. 🙂
I just read Allyson's blog and literally laughed out loud (boy did that feel good!). BEC to me is the bad breakup that will never end….BEC must be OBSESSED with me.

AnonymousInactiveDoes anyone know why COSO and corporate governance aren't a part of Audit? I still can't wrap my mind around the number of COSO questions I had encountered after already having passed AUD.
Is it just me or are these 4 separate tests increasingly over-lapping? Its as if they'd like you to fail if you haven't a strong understanding of the whole picture (all 4 parts) prior to sitting for any one part.
Its like:
One enormous blurry finish line we're trying to focus on. I'm not sure there is an end in sight anymore.
It will be a glorious day when I finally stumble blindly across their finish line.

AnonymousInactive@carolina_blues – When I took AUD the window before, I do not remember them testing hard on Corporate Governance. Don't give up. There IS an end in sight. Unfortunately, we will have to do some more dirty work to show BEC who's boss. A little extra hard work….should push us over the edge. I believe we will be jogging across the finish line! I thought I would be devastated if I failed a section of the exam. To my surprise, the fighter in me came out. Instead of hitting the gym to prepare, I'm hitting the books. I am trying to use failing, as a motivation to kick this exams butt! Keep positive! WE CAN DO THIS! 🙂

AnonymousInactiveThanks for the “Chin Up” feedback Erin it is genuinely appreciated.
However, just glancing at the page I'm reading right now I can create a question I can almost guarantee would turn up on the BEC exam merely because of how “tricky” it is even for those with notes out and books open in front of them.
Here we go, I just made this one up directly from the text:
According to the COSO framework of internal control, providing employees with an understanding of their roles and responsibilities is:
a.) an example of the Assignment of Authority and Responsibility factor within the Control Environment
b.) an example of the Human Resources policies and procedures within the Control Environment
c.) an example of policies and procedures within the Control Activities component of COSO internal control framework
d.) an example of proper communication within the Information component of the COSO internal control framework
What is the usefulness of questions like this?
How would knowing the answer to this ever be used in the workplace?
Just because someone can sit around creating trick questions, does answering the questions necessarily make any one of any more knowledgeable on the subject? Does it mean the question maker knows any more than the person answering said question? I think not.
I'm going to leave this open for a few hours for folks to guess the correct answer.
Oh, and no cheating now! You wouldn't have a book or a note for use during the exam.
