AnonymousInactiveYour choice was between accounting and engineering? Those are 2 very different paths. You do realize engineering is WAYYY more difficult and intellectually demanding than accounting right?

wantCPAMemberFor WC, I would definitely practice doing one or two and see how long it takes you to complete one.
The WC topics I got was what I expected it to be, so two of my three were similar to the Becker writing topics.
I know that each testlet is different but with my test I found that a lot of the questions were from Becker 4 and 5. So maybe doing more multiple questions, maybe read over those chapters?
I hope that helps.

AnonymousInactivehey guys, quick question… i am not sure what thread to post this in. I am caught in a scheduling debacle.
I have two choices. Originally, I was planning to take REG by October 3, then trying to study straight through for BEC by exam date November 30. I am starting to think that REG by october 3 may be pushing it (8 chapters in 8 weeks), so then i was thinking I could do BEC by October 3, then go for REG by January 13 (over three months study time), when my NTS expires. I am leaning more towards the second choice, but my issue with that is that if i fail REG on january 13, i would have to wait until April to retake.
Any thoughts on what would we better?

AnonymousInactivefinishing B2. 120 MCQs for one section is too many. I can't practice just variance analysis.
BE analysis is easy but sometimes hard to find which cost is relevant. for example, CPA-04261 says “fixed charge of $20,000 currently absorbed by other products will be allocated to this new product.” and this is not relevant. I don't know why.
DM/DL variance analysis is ok with tabular formats and PURE. I still need time to memorize OH variance.

Regarding the $20,000 allocated to the new product – I think it is because it is a fixed cost that was already there prior to the new product, so it isn't an additional cost. Sort of like a sunk cost – the cost itself is not changing because of the new product, they just decided to allocate the cost to the new product.
How is everyone doing on their BEC studying? I got past B1,2, & 3, which were killers with regard to volume of MCQs, and just finished B4, which is better with regard to the work but worse with regard to the content. IT? Really? I can understand having a general knowledge, but why does a CPA have to know about LANs and WANs and VANs and gateways and packet filtering, etc. etc. etc.??? Really? Ugh! I just hope I pass this thing so I don't ever have to study this minutia about computers again!
