Becker is wanting me to complete 2 chapters a week!!! I still haven't gotten through chapter 1! I think I am trying to know every detail….who knows. I'm hoping to put in 20 hours between today and tomorrow with hopes of catching up! We shall see! Good luck!

    Krystal83-

I believe one of the WCs will be a pretest question and the pretest question is also predetermined. So….I guess to answer your question…They don't pick your top two. Its more like you just do all three and hope that the one you didn't do as well out of the three was the pretest! I like to believe they just like paying mind games with us candidates! ha

As far as variances.. Beckers MCQs have quiet a few Production Volume Variances, VOH Spending/Efficiency, FOH Spending/Volume Variances. In the book they BRIEFLY mention them, and say to just do it once or twice if we get a question, but we should focus on the DL/DM variances?

I am okay with the PURE DADS SAD, but not the ones I mentioned above? Should I just skip them because for the life of me I do not understand the ones Becker briefly mentioned in the book/lecture… I feel like I am wasting TOO much time on variances.

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

I think variances will show up on most tests, but probably only a few questions. So, you may miss one or two questions by not knowing those variances, but that's not the end of the world.

Becker Question that I think may have the wrong answer (B2 Section 2 Question 47)

The question is asking for the Fixed Overhead Spending Variance and is too long to type, but if anyone is reviewing variances today, let me know what you think. I thought when you are doing a 1 vs 2 spending variance you take the ACTUAL versus BA (Budgeted based on actual hours worked/ inputs). The answer, however, is using the budgeted capacity hours instead of actual hours.

I feel the answer should be B instead of A. Anyone out there agree with me or can explain why I am wrong? Thanks.

Never mind the above question…I am pretty sure the reason they are using capacity hours, is because it is FIXED variance instead of VARIABLE. I think I get it now…I hate these overhead variances.

I'm attempting REG in 3 weeks so I will know your pain. Not to scare you but had some questions with more detail than I expected. I'm kicking myself because I had one area of weakness that I never fully spent the time to memorize. That was why it was weak for me…I stink at memorization (especially when you try to memorize a book).

Do what you can now to change your grade. If you could bottle those nerves you feel when you sit down for the exam and take a swig on your lazy days, it would be a lot easier to motivate yourself.

    Good luck.

I am not getting this question at all. Does anyone get this?

    Becker Question

American Coat Company estimates that 60,000 special zippers will be used in the manufacture of men's jackets during the next year. Reese Zipper Company has quoted a price of $.60 per zipper. American would prefer to purchase 5,000 units per month, but Reese is unable to guarantee this delivery schedule. In order to ensure availability of these zippers, American is considering the purchase of all 60,000 units at the beginning of the year. Assuming American can invest cash at eight percent, the company's opportunity cost of purchasing the 60,000 units at the beginning of the year is?

    a. $1,320 b. $1,440 c. $1,500 d. $2,640

    Choice “a” is correct.
