    The purchase of Treasury stock with a firm's surplus cash…

    !) dilutes a firms earnings per share

    2) increases a Firms assets

    3) increases a firms interest coverage ratio

    4) increases Firms financial leverage

    Why is the answer 4- how does it increase financial leverage?.. doesnt higher financial leverage mean more debt

    It means more debt compared to equity. Since buying treasury stock reduces equity (and assets), your firm has higher debt as a percent of financing, therefore it increases financial leverage.

    FAR: 92
    AUD: 99
    BEC: 90
    REG: 95

    Never freak out. Even if you sit down at the exam and they manage to hit your every weak spot…Don't freak out. Fight for every point and hope it sticks. Many people have thought they failed and passed. Many of us are not use to hoping for a 75. My marks are usually much higher but this is a different kind of exam. You can miss things and still pass….just not too many things in the same testlet.

    Good luck.

    Does anyone else find Wiley 2012 Test Bank to be harder than Becker's homework questions?

    depends what you mean by harder.. i think a lot of questions on wiley werent focused on in becker, so they are harder to figure out the answer cause dont know the info ( especially the IT part) . But i think wiley question tend to be less wordy than becker

    I believe Wiley questions are a tad bit more technical than Becker.

    @CPAwanabe–no need to freak out!
