@dsteele139, I'm only on chapter 2 of BEC so it's hard to say. Every section has it's own nuiansces but FAR for me was what I felt would be my personal weakness since it has so many modules and J.E's, etc. When I was studying, I really never thought I would pass and the whole time it just gave me such sick anxiety but I just really kept plugging along. As far as the actual FAR exam, MCQ's were not bad but the SIMs I definitely struggled with. BEC is annoying, but not that difficult so far. I love that there will be no SIMs.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

They say good things come to those who wait, but only those things that are left by those who hustle.

for anyone who has taken BEC recently, What would you say is the percentage of questions that are formula questions?? there are so many formulas to memorize, and also need to memorize when to use which formula…seems very difficult. are there a lot of these intense questions or more theory type questions on the exam?

    thanks

    AUD - 2/27/12 - 76
    REG - 5/31/12 - 78
    BEC - 8/31/12 - 77
    FAR - 12/6/12 - 76

Just found out I passed BEC with a 76. Used Roger. My performance as compared to just-passing candidates (i.e. candidates with a total score between 75 and 80). was stronger in the MC and weaker in the WC. Did not spend any time doing the suggested written communication problems from Roger. Maybe I should have. Oh well.

Plan to tackle FAR next, followed by AUD then REG.

I wrote down all the formulas as I was reading until I got to the 3 way variance chapter. I tried to memorize them a little but most of it was done just by trying to do the multiple choice. I also looked over all of them right before the test. I would say it helped a lot during the exam. For the variances you just have to think about what you are trying to measure.

ihatestudying-I was surprised that there weren't more formula questions. It's seemed primarily theory. I was bombarded with variance questions though. A couple WC and cost questions and that was about it. And they were much more straight forward than I was expecting as well. Some of those half page questions in Becker are quite intimidating but none like them were on the exam.

    B-74,84 (Expires 1/31/14)
    A-79 (Expires 7/31/13)
    R-72,83 (Expires 4/31/14)
F-80 No more expiration worries, I'm Done!

    Hi all,

I'd posted this in another thread but this might work better!

Thinking of taking BEC end of August. I have Becker 2011 materials and Wiley 2011 test bank. I'm not good with lectures so that's already out. Now how do I study for it? Do i start with chapter B1 and go all the way or do I start with B5 and IT and Variance because lots of people say they got tested on those topics a lot. And I am really bad at taking notes, can anyone advise me to take good notes. All I ever end up doing while taking notes is either re-writing or half assed scribbles which I do not understand later 🙁

Also would anyone recommend skimming the chapters and doing the MCQs over and over again and understand the material that way?

As always, any help is much appreciated! Good luck to us all!

    AUD- Failed 3 times, 81 5/30/12
    REG- X3:(
    BEC-X1 🙁
    FAR-

Finally passed my first exam after 2+ years of agony! I refuse to give up! Bring it on!

    @nailcpa

YES, read the ancillary material! I had questions from that material on FAR, AUD, and BEC. Trust me… read it twice if you have to. It's boring but it will be worth it in the long run.
