    @EELCPA

    Have you seen Becker lecture videos. They dont mention anything about layout as your post says. You just write a memo. NO headers OR names are require. I believe everything is pre-printed as in Becker Practice Exam.

    remember you have 45 mins to do 3 memo..

    I'm sure its preprinted because I checked the last time I did it.

    The preprint would be…

    TO: XXX

    SUBJECT: XXX

    [Then the empty box below the preprint would be the area you write the memo]

    BEC: 66 | 69 | 7/23/2013
    AUD: 8/28/2013
    REG:
    FAR:

    @ROACH..

    That's how it is in Becker.

    Do you think we need to add our name at the bottom. Like “Sincerely”..

    Yeah I would. On all mines I ended it…

    “Peace, Love, and God Bless the dead,

    -Roach”

    The machine doesn't pick up on stuff like that I don't think.

    If the memorandum is anything like they used to be in FAR and AUD, then the last sentence must contain something like, “Do not hesitate to contact me should any additional inquiries arise…” I would definitely insert a “sincerely” or “best regards” before typing your name. I will also refrain from using contractions such as, “don't” or “can't.” It is more professional to use “do not” and “cannot,” for example.

    One thing that helped me in FAR and AUD (when they contained communications) is the cursory information at the front of the becker book. I studied that right before the exam and scored well on my communications in both of the exams. Luckily, I still have those books so I will be studying those tips in preparation for my BEC exam.

    I've heard a lot about the weak COSO preparation on either Wiley and Becker. I had the same feeling when I took (and failed – 67) the exam in February. Lots of detailed COSO questions I needed to guess on. I decided to check the official COSO website, http://www.coso.org, and they have plenty of material to dive into there. Granted, it is in that “wooden” repetitive language that makes it hard to stick, but I thought I'd share my recent COSO endeavors with you. It is also a suggestion for those who said they ran out of studying ideas.

    Have a pleasant read!:)
