So far with BEC, I feel like someone at the AICPA took note of all the classes I didn't like and wasn't good at in college, and decided to put them all in one test named BEC. I am sooooo worried about this section, and I'm puzzled that most people don't seem to struggle with it. Is it just me or does anyone else freak out when the see what's covered?

apbandj… i got my BS in Economics so i am familiar . However, BEC touches the basics. you probably went over this in micro econ 200 or something like that don't freak out! and BEC is easy to grasp its knowing how to take the test thats hard lol !

i just failed for my second time .71 but i know it was because i didn't do well on the WC at all , i ran out of time. third time is a charm April 7th!

@GVirgil – now you're really scaring me! You have a degree in Econ and haven't passed BEC twice 😉 What materials are you using?

I am trying to tell myself that I was confused as heck when I went through FAR the first time, and that it will get better once I go through the material again. And then there are all these formulas that I have no clue how I'm going to memorize. I was expecting them to be easy like adding 2 numbers or dividing 2 numbers like ratios. But they all have multiple components!

Keeping my fingers crossed we both passed this time.

@GVirgiL – I've never used the Ninja Notes. How are they compared to the Wiley book? It may sounds crazy, but I like how detailed the Wiley book gets.

APbandJ let me elaborate so i dont freak you out. lol the first time i didn't put the time nor effort into studying for this test. i hadn't opened a book since 09 when i finished my accounting degree …it was really hard for me to sit down and study after two years of getting used to social life of going out, traveling etc etc..

.now the second time around i only studied a month ( FEB 2012) and i only used the weekends, mostly.

I work full time so i only had the weekends to use. But the second time around, when i actually put forth the time and effort, i felt confident . i think if i have had one more weekend to practice questions on a timed basis, i wouldn't have ran out of time to answer the WC on the actual Exam.

i scored weak on Corp Governance, CIS and Operation management _ ( this was all definitions since it was just definitions ,i didn't take the time to study it so, i had to take an educated guess on these MCQs )

i scored Comparable on economics concept and analysis , strategic planing

    and stronger on financial management

also ..in regards to the formulas. i thought the same thing .. but you will learn them. they are tied with the concepts , so learn the concept you wont really have to memorize the formulas.. oh and fyi! my retake asked me to compute the quick ratio!! so you could be lucky and get an easy question too.

so to sum it up! you have to take the time to study and prepare …so i don't really count my first time . lol
