I took BEC in Nov and got a 69. I took it again inFeb and got a 62. i feel so discouraged. I'm using the Yeager materials and I love Cindy!! I did the MCQs in the book, made flashcards for the formulas, make my own notes – I don't know what I could be doing differently – but I was thinking of getting a supplemental test bank with MCQs – are their any recommendations? I would really appreciate any advice / help! Thanks!

@darklordkuma, I want to be you. What did you do to move from 73 to 79?

    Hi ms87,

I studied for BEC using PDF files and from various sources so don't be disappointed, there is always a way. You have to focus your attention on your weak points. If they are the computational areas of BEC then you have to understand the logic behind those type of questions. For e.g. IT and COSO there is no logic you just have to know them. So read the text and do the questions. For the other stuff computational stuff you just have to know the logic behind them. I didn't memorize a single formula for the test and did just fine. Just do enough practice questions that all the formulas become logical to you.

    Hope that helps!!

If you made a 73 you are probably close to passing and a few areas might be stopping you from getting to 75. See your score breakdown analysis as compared to those who passed and see where you were weak. My state board recommends that I study all parts of the exam before retaking and not just the weaker sections, however I did it my way and only focused on areas that I was weak in i.e. Financial Management (Working Capital, CAPM, Forecasting and trends, Impact of Inflation/deflation etc and Operations Management (Cost Measurement VC DC Break Even analysis etc). I didn't even study for economics or IT cause those were my strong points. I didn't have the time to study through everything so just focused on those areas and retook the exam. I had last taken the exam in April 2011, however I knew economics and IT like the back of my hand and they are still my strong points on the latest exam.

@darklordkuma, Thank you, my weak areas have always been IT, Strategic Planning and Operation Management. I am always Strong in all other three. I will re-do all mcq for those areas (I never completed them all before) I always thought percentage wise they were small to dedicate so much time. Big mistake.

I just passed REG, thank god. Now I'm moving on to BEC. Do you guys have any recommendations on how to prepare for this exam? Does BEC require as much preparation time as REG?

Preparing for BEC is a killer. The exam is soo random that you can't really narrow down the topics. So far BEC was the most annoying exam to study for. Still waiting on my score, if I didn't pass, it is going to be hell studying again :(.

    AUD- 71, 73, 87 Done!!!!!
    BEC- 75
    FAR- 72, 77
    REG- 77
