    I'm on here because I just took the BEC portion of the CPA exam, and feel like Becker was a complete failure in preparing me for the exam. I studied for over 2 months, weekdays and weekends since I'm not working, and felt completely lost during the examination. I haven't received my results, but I'm 99% sure I failed. Everything I mastered and memorized was for nothing. I felt that I knew that book and flashcards from front to back, and maybe about 30% of what I had studied was on the exam. I'm considering Wiley or some other program. Any recommendations? I see from posts made around a year ago that other test takers had problems with Becker-BEC as well. PLEASE HELP!

    @ PJ

    I wouldn't say that Becker “the material” didn't prepare me well, but I can say that the MCQ's were not similar at all.

    Done 😉

    Also, any words of wisdom as my exam is on Feb 24th…

    Thanks again

    It's the day before my exam. Feeling pretty good. I took the AICPA sample test, only missed one (of 5). Then did all the 2011 released questions…still feeling good, missed about 5 or 6 (of 40).

    Still slightly worred about the WC, it seems to take me longer to formulate a decent response. I'm planning on leaving a little more than 45 minutes just incase.

    Overall I don't really know what to review tonight. Doing MCQ is like beating a dead horse at this point. Think I'll just review COSO/ERM, IT, Internal Auditing, Econ and any formulas. I'll let you know how it went tomorrow.

    FAR - 68, 79
    AUD - 82
    REG - 71, 71, 80
    BEC - 76

    Part 2: January 2014

    I would not try to memorize the material, but rather just try to understand it. A general understanding of why a forumla is designed the way that it is… Behind all of the material is logic, just make it logical. It's not about how many hours you are putting into the material, but rather what you are getting out of the hours that you are putting in… I haven't taken my BEC section yet, but from speaking with a lot of my CPA friends, this is the type of information that I have gathered. Many cantidates seem to want to be hopeful to see a question worded identically to the way they answered an MCQ from their preperation software; you probably won't. Although, if you truley understand the concepts then it will not matter how they phrase the question.

    @Pistolpete

    Let us know how it goes. I am sure you did great.
