PistolPeteMemberI haven't concerned myself with the WC much, but I've attempted a few. After reading the Becker responses I feel a little inadequate. 15 minutes goes by quick and when I read back my response I just seem to talk around the topic, but never really answer the question. It's a little disconcerting.
FAR - 68, 79
AUD - 82
REG - 71, 71, 80
BEC - 76CMA
Part 1: October 2013
Part 2: January 2014February 16, 2012 at 4:59 am #466480

Marivy22ParticipantHere to share my BEC experience…..
Oh well!!!
It was an experience. As for the content, it had a little bit of everything, so even if I wanted to say something in particular that was heavily tested, I cannot give you a topic.
Not confident during the exam at all. The best part was testlet 4. Testlet 1 was all about calculations. Testlet 2 and 3 had more theory, but some calculations in the middle.
Tips for the test:
1. time management- I allow myself 45 mins per testlet +/-. Took a break before the SIMS, as usual, and ended the exam with 2 minutes left.
2. read the book- I used Becker for the most part, and Wiley test bank towards the end. This exam is not like AUD and FAR….where repeating MCQ's help you memorize and understand the concepts. None of the questions were worded as Becker or Wiley. I had to use my brain more than usual LOL. I had a headache after the test.
I studied for the exam 5 weeks with a total of 120 hours….I hope to pass.
I was thinking on starting with Reg's material, but now I will wait until scores release 3/8, before spending time studying.
Good luck with yours!!!
Done 😉
Class of 2012!!!!

ZHMemberI agree with Marivy22 on the BEC exam – I took it too on 2/19.
Majority of the questions were NOT worded like Becker/Wiley. The questions were mostly based on advanced theory and concepts (that make you really think) and only a few calculation based questions. I did come back back and check on a few answers that I was unsure of and it seems like I answered them correctly so I have no idea what I was doing wrong. I thought I was doing fine but my testlets definitely did NOT get harder. I mean they were conceptually challenging but mostly single or double sentence questions and answers. No extraordinary calculations. *Sigh*

Marivy22Participant@ZH,
I guess we will have to wait and see how it went….
@ Cpa soon,
10 or 15 minutes after starting my exam, I wrote my time schedule on that yellow piece of paper 😉
Testlet 1- 2:15
Testlet 2- 1:30
Testlet 3- 0:45
This is the actual time that you have to be finishing each testlet. Allowing 45 minutes to work on each testlet.
I didn't practice WC before the exam. If english is your first language (not mine), and you have a good understanding of accounting in general, you should be good.
Done 😉

porschifyMemberI had a very similar experience when I took it on 2/17. I felt that the testlets did no get harder, across each testlet. When I took the exam the first time back in 2008, the AICPA said that BEC did not get progressively harder like the other ones. Im not sure if that changed when the format changed in 2011.
REG- 81
BEC- 72,76
AUD- 67,88
FAR- 78Done!
