@ David…My driving is alright, not fanstatic, but let me tell you the most dangerous place in Houston is the parking lot in Chinatown. LOL. For some reasons, I am VERY good at parallel parking.

@CPA-Convertible: I agree about the stereotype. Though in real life I have met very very good at math Americans. I'm Asian and was pretty good at math too. Won regional – 1st place in junior high and high school (about a few cities size population here) math competition 4 times, though I'm not sure if that's significant relevant to the passing :0)

I'm a nervous driver, so I don't say that I drive okay because I really never drive too far from my area. When we go somewhere out of state, my husband prefers to drive because he feels more stressed if I drive.

I can't parallel parking! and failed driving test twice, passed at the third time but I think because of the DMV instructor was having a good day that day. I thought for sure that I would never want to drive when I first came to the US 🙂

    BEC 85

    FAR 80

    REG 81

    AUD 90

@CPAExammom…great scores you have! I don't think my driving is bad or fantastic, but I always amazed my friends when they saw my parallel parking, compared to my driving. Due to my experience, I will refuse to sit in any middle age Asian ladies' cars, especially the one who just learned to drive for years…that include my mom. It happened to me more than once their cars literally sit STILL in the middle of the interaction.

Btw, I just opened a 2008 Becker FAR book and got scared by the materials. (I ordered Becker materials in 2008 and did not even to finish one chapter…, on the bright side, I got a return student discount…). I think FAR is the most difficult for me so far…I just started reading Government Acct while waiting my new material to come in…any tips on how to study FAR will be much appreciated…

@kmcg4k, we sure are all good at math. otherwise, we wouldn't have been here. 🙂

Yes FAR is huge, I spent the longest time for FAR and could not finish as much as I did in other sections. I have not much of good tips, but working on MCQs worked for me the best…you know since English is our 2nd language, reading is not a very good option for me. Did you work in accounting before? I think working in accounting before did help me to digest FAR. As you go through the material, there's lot of basic stuff in it, not like BEC everything in it was pretty much brand new to me. (BTW, my undergrad degree was from my country).

As for the driving…I've been driving about 7-8 years, no accident yet 🙂 Though when I started, my husband suggested a bumper sticker say “watch out people! Asian women driver”.
