    Have any of you used the BEC ninja mcq exclusively/heavily to prepare for the BEC exam? I ask this as someone who has used primarily Becker as my study material, with slight ninja mcq thrown in the mix, but I have been thinking about going full throttle and just hammering mcq for a month and a half since ninja provides detailed explanations after every question is answered.

    Sure its not the organized, point A –> Z kind of approach like becker is, but I wanna give it a shot, esp since FAR expires in April >.<

    @Adambomb – I just don't feel good about it. I found myself just trying to make an educated guess on what felt like a lot of questions. Not sure at all how t feel about MCQs or TBSs. I feel that WC went well though.

    hello. I need some help.
    What is the difference between a systems programmer and an application programmer?
    A control is a systems programmer cant have application programming duties. Why?

    According to Gleim: Systems programmers maintain and fine-tune the operating systems on the organizations medium- and large-scale computers. They may be able to modify programs, data files and controls. Thus, they should have no access to the data center operations or to production programs or data.

    Applications programmers design, write, test, and document computer programs according to specifications provided by the end-users.

    So what I take from that is systems programmers work at a much higher level, working on operating systems and core system processes, whereas applications programmers design the lower-level applications that are used by office staff.

    @HT415 I used Ninja last year, but didn't take the time to really understand some of the stuff I should have and it bit me, so I'm retaking next week. I did the method you described on all of the exams last year and went 3/4, so it definitely can be done. Just don't try and cut corners or go in with serious weak areas and you should be good.

    Can anyone please guide me whether the actual exam questions are so calculation oriented as in becker or ninja mcqs?

    @wannabcpa it’s luck of the draw. I took it 12/2016 and had a ton of calculation questions. I took it again 12/2017 and only had a couple. Just depends on what you get that day.

    I just got done taking it. I finished with over an hour on the clock again. I mostly followed my time schedule but the last sim testlet was easy and writing took a lot less time than I was expecting. Second MCQ was a lot more complex than the first one, but not necessarily harder. Some random IT terms I've never heard of were on the exam that left me guessing. I don't think there's any way to be 100% ready for the IT stuff. The COSO questions on the exam went more in depth than the Gleim book does. One of the sims was kind of bullshit. Hard to explain without breaking the disclosure rule, but basically I think it was wrong and I hope it was a pre-test. I still think I got most of the problem correct anyway. I'm going to guess I got around a 90. I will be absolutely shocked if I didn't pass. Yay for not having to wait 3 months for my score this time.

    Good luck @Tim and thanks for the feedback! I take this section again on Wednesday and my confidence is growing, but I'm wishing I had more time to prepare (like always).

    Awesome bro u seem to have nailed it! I wanted to know whether you thought it was beneficial giving FAR before BEC in any way.I am giving BEC before taking FAR and am thinking if any WC based on FAR comes up i will be screwed.

    @wannabcpa I think you'll be fine on the WC. I don't remember having any topics that weren't related to BEC on that portion. There are people who have taken BEC first or before FAR and passed.

    @wannabcpa

    You'll be fine. There isn't much if any overlap of FAR material on the BEC section. BEC and AUD have more in common from what I'm told. The Gleim study material has WCs from all 4 sections but my exam was all BEC material and everyone else I've seen talk about it says it's all BEC WC's. I'm not sure why Gleim does that.
