    @bobby @JSirro I noticed you are using Becker to study BEC. What version of the book do you have? I have v2.0 but I saw they have a 3.1 out. Do you or anyone else on this thread know if there is a huge difference or if I can just use the version I have to prep for the exam in early Feb?

    I'm just finishing the Gleim material. Going out of town for Christmas week then I will start my final review before my exam on Jan 15th. I gave myself more time for final review this time as I felt really stressed during my FAR final review phase when I only left myself like 8 days. My final review will consist of doing MCQ's from all topics to identify weaker areas. Then briefly review those chapters and do a lot of MCQ's from those chapters. I'm expecting to need to spend the most time on COSO. I want to have it almost memorized. I will also probably spend a day or two practicing written responses, mostly focusing on format and keywords. Lastly I will just hammer MCQ's until I'm trending like 80% like I was before I took FAR. edit: I will also do the AICPA practice exam at some point.

    Wish me luck. After my FAR score I feel like I need to at least try for the Elijah Watts-Sells award even though I don't expect to get it. If I get a 75 on this one I'll just be glad I don't even have to think about that anymore. CPA license is the goal.

    @Jennifer oh duh, thank you so much!

    When I read the question, I mistakenly took the Internal Rate of Return as the Profitability Index. Classic case of if I was paying attention, I would have gotten the problem right!

    Thanks!

    @mfbc23
    I'm using v3.0 right now while also skimming the online book. However, I couldn't tell you if or how big of a difference there is between the two versions!

    @Tim,

    How many hours (weeks) do you spend on the 1st round of Gleim study units for BEC?

    Also, working on Chapter 2 Module 9 of BEC, and I was curious as to whether anyone knew how necessary it is to memorize the formulas to calculate the time value of money for factoring discounted cash flows?

    @ckcpa18

    I study for about 10-15 hours per week on average. I'm just finishing unit 20 and I started studying right after my FAR exam. So 10 weeks total with 2 weeks left for final review.

    @Tim,
    It is about the same plan for me prepared my AUD. So two months of study is also reasonable for BEC. Thanks

    @bobby are you referring to the PV tables and stuff? If so, you do not need to memorize that as the exam will provide any PV tables for you. You'll just need to know which annuity number or whatever to use and how to do it.

    Help, I cannot for the life of me get the 2 additional points i need for BEC! I took in January 2017 and while sick failed, 65. Retook in April, 73, retook 10/31 another damn 73!! How do I get over this hump? I primarily used BECKER but I don't want to re-purchase and it's expired. I have a review book from another vendor that helped with AUD but not what I needed for BEC (I guess). I'm going to try and retake ASAP (I have FAR on 1/11 and that needs to be my priority) but REG expires in April and I want this over.

    I have notes, flash cards, review notes… what can I do for MCQ and simulations?

    I really wouldn't try without any review package. I'm not sure what your best or cheapest option is. There are free trials with some of them I think. But when you're paying like $200+ just to take the test each time, trying to avoid paying anything for study materials generally isn't going to pay off. I'm not saying to go out and spend a ton of money on Becker again but at least get access to a decent test bank to practice on.

    @Pam Ninja is going to be your cheapest option for a test bank probably. Wiley will give you a 2 week free trial. Definitely look into something, though. And if you do Ninja you will get some updated materials, depending on what package you go with, that could help also. Do you have any book to use? I used Ninja test bank this month and now I'm going back and reading the Wiley book to help give me the edge I need to get the last 5 points. I used Wiley alone last year and got the same score, so I'm hoping by combining the two packages I'll get there. Good luck!

    Hey everyone! I'm new to this site and I just wanted to say that I am motivated by your comments. I started taking cpa exams in 2010. I failed all the exams repeatedly over the years (with the exception of BEC because I've never taken that one) and this year I finally passed one, which was Audit (81). I'm so glad that I found this forum and I just wanted to introduce myself. I will be taking BEC in Mid-February.

    @Randi1213 keep up the excellent work! my favorite phrase I've read on here has to be ‘you only fail when you quit.' So true, keep up the good fight, we're all in this together
