Same here I have never felt so dumb after taking these exams!! Honestly, just yesterday I was questioning myself and the need for all this chaos and stress. However, I took a deep breath this morning and changed my mindset. Had to learn to accept failure and learn from it. I can’t quit and in my mind we can all beat this beast eventually. I use Rogers and like he says “The exam is not an IQ Test. It is a test of discipline. If you study, you will pass!” I’ll have to tell myself this everyday lol #2018GOALS

So I've been doing Ninja MCQ marathon this week since I have the week off. Anyway, I'm doing a random set of 30 questions and my score ranges from 60s to 90s with no consistency. I score a 90, then bam… the next set I get 60. Is this normal?

It really is frustrating. When I thought I'm getting it… I'll get a very low score next.

I had that problem last window! I haven't really started answering many questions this time around, so I'm hoping to avoid that. You may need to go back and re-read or watch extra videos on some of the topics.

Thanks Jennifer. I think most of my problem topics are coming from IT and Risk Management. I can find several videos on Risk Management, but I'm just not getting it. Hopefully it will sink in soon. With regards to IT, there's just no good resources for it or I'm not finding them useful.

IT is the worst. I don't think any program can really prepare you for that, but I heard Wiley has a pretty good overview of it. Someone last window used the 2 week Wiley trial before his exam and he said that really helped him prepare for the IT portion.

Hi guys, i have a quick question.
is the Profitability Index calculated as: PV of Cash in flow after investment/investment or NPV/investment ??

I saw in Ninja MCQ we used both…but i may be missing some significant piece of information.
    Any help will do, thanks!!!

@S6, NPV = PV of Cash inflows after investment. So the formulas you mentioned are the same.

I have the most updated version of Wiley CPAexcel. The BEC course does not include the International Internal Auditing Standards material but it does appear in the Ninja Notes. Is this still tested on the exam? Or is it part of the newest update?

    Thanks.

Question for those who have had to do a retake. I scored a 73 on BEC on December 7th. My retake is scheduled for 1/22. I got my results back yesterday and on the MCQ's I scored stronger in IT, comparable in Corp Governance and Finance, weaker in Econ and Operations. I scored weaker on the sims but stronger on the WC's. My question is should I start over studying like I haven't studied before or should I just focus on the weaker areas I had? Being so close to a 75 I'm not sure how to approach it. Any advice? Thanks!

@jmilller13 I would say study everything. My second round of AUD that was my strategy, and on the second fail the stronger/weaker topics had flipped. Plus it's luck of the draw as to what you actually get on your exam, so you may fail to review something and end up needing it. Since I was lower than you, I opted to start over and am reading the book again and hoping that will help give me an edge, although I think I'm about to give up on that and continue hitting MCQs for the next 2 weeks before test day.

Anyone care to share advice on how to handle studying the week prior to the exam. What you thought worked well, what didn't, how to handle anxiety or self induced pressure, etc. I'm finding that I do decently well on MCQs (90%-100% on Wiley assessments and ~80% average on Becker Progress Tests consisting of B1-B6 material) but have issues with the computations on some TBSs. I feel that if I continually do the same TBSs I may just end up memorizing the answers and cheat my way through the actual process. Also, what's a good way to study for the written assessments? I've been reading over sample essays thus far.

    Thanks!
