keelmcMemberI am taking my audit exam this Friday (October 26th), and since its my first time taking any section I don't really know what to expect. I have taken both of the Becker final exams and got a 78 on the first and a 76 on the second (assuming that I scored the simulation section properly). I know that these are both passing scores but they feel a little close for comfort. Should I be worried? Have you found the Becker exams to be harder, easier or similar to the actual test? Thank you!
AUD - 98
FAR - 1/2/2013
REG - TDB
BEC - TBDOctober 24, 2012 at 7:47 pm #385089

LSNYCMemberHave been majorly slacking since my BEC exam and now just about 4 weeks till my retake on audit. Hoping for a big weekend of studying! Trying to focus on procedures and evidence and professional responsibilities this weekend since I was weaker in those areas on my last exam.
Also have been reading my ninja notes this time and just got the Wiley test bank!

AnonymousInactiveI'm taking AUD tomorrow afternoon, and I'm feeling completely unprepared, although I think I did well on the Becker practice exam #2 last night. My scores were: MC – 80 90 90 / Sims – 89 (average). For practice exam 1, which I took last week, I scored: MC – 86 90 80 / Sims – 84 (average). Should I be feeling okay about passing this exam?

AnonymousInactiveelko – with those scores if you are not just memorizing the answers and actually understand the concepts you should be fine. Let us know how your test goes…
I am restudying AUD and I realize now one area that has REALLY hurt me is I don't understand when to put the explanatory paragraph BEFORE or AFTER the opinion paragraph can someone simplify this for me?

AnonymousInactiveI took my exam today, and the multiple choice seemed way too easy. At least half were straight from Becker! The second testlet was slightly harder than the first, but there were only one or two on information I hadn't seen before. I had a couple vague sims, but overall, they were totally doable (and one was laughably easy using the search function of the authoritative literature tab).
Ashley, this was an easy way for me to remember where to place the explanatory paragraph: If it changes the opinion (qualified or adverse), it goes before. If the opinion is unchanged but needs explanation (modified unqualified), it goes after. Hope that is helpful!

Moving ForwardMember@ AshleyCap – in addition to Elko777's advice, an explanatory paragraph may be placed BEFORE or AFTER the opinion paragraph for the following: JUSTIFIED GAAP DEPARTURE & EMPHASIS OF A MATTER (this is the exception to the general rule). General Rule per Elko777 are: Unqualified Opinion = after the opinion; Qualifed, Adverse, and Disclaimer Opinion = before the opinion.
@AnnaMay84: I would listen to the lectures (make any notes of examples given besides the highlighting), read the chapters, annotate major points, review notes and then do the multiple choice questions…..right away review any missed question so that it sticks. Try to go over the MCQ – twice and in the weaker areas as much as you want.

AnonymousInactive@elko & movingforward – thanks for helping! I have to say I started reading the AUD NINJA notes and the way Jeff clarifies the opinions and where to put the explanation paragraph REALLY has helped.
@movingforward – I think that's the part that was confusing me because I remember from Becker them saying “explanatory paragraph can go before OR after ….” and I couldn't remember when exactly that was.
