In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@Qlad I don't think anyone can say specifically what SIMS they saw on the exam…that being said, from reading the AUD experience thread, it doesn't seem to come up much

    Thank you eliasm6.

Is comm with predecessor auditor required in review as per SAS/PCAOB? I know it is not as per SSARS

    AU section 315:

Inquiry of the predecessor auditor is a necessary procedure because the predecessor auditor may be able to provide information that will assist the successor auditor in determining whether to accept the engagement.

Assuming appropriate disclosure is made, which of the following fee arrangements generally would be permitted under the ethical standards of the profession?

    A. A fee paid to the client’s audit firm for recommending investment advisory services to the client.

    B. A fee paid to the client’s tax accountant for recommending a computer system to the client.

    C. A contingent fee paid to the CPA for preparing the client’s amended income tax return.

    D. A contingent fee paid to the CPA for reviewing the client’s financial statements.

Correct answer is B…but why not A? Is it too close to assisting with “financial statement” services?

Tic marks are scary at first, especially when you think you have to memorize anything that is until you realize that you don't. The marks next to the opening balances…. have to be reconciled to last years closing. Marks next to amounts borrowed have to be…. checked to see if authorized and reconciled to deposits in accounts. Pretty simple? You may have marks by the totals…total, foot, cross foot. Marks next to any references to loan agreements? You have to go read the agreement and make sure the rates are OK…

that right there is 50-75% of any tic mark sim they can throw at you, and yes, I s'pose it is fair game.

@gabequinn I think that A can cause some conflict especially since it says audit firms. Audit firms deal with a lot of stuff that is confidential and can result in some unethical stuff if they start getting paid for investment advice.

At least that is how I would look at it.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

For some reason I can't edit my posts, but communication with predecessor is NOT required for a review (per the question above)

Hi guys, this is my first time posting. Just took Audit this morning – my (hopefully) last section. After reading this forum throughout the other tests I took, I figured it was time I contributed a little bit.

The people that say take FAR before AUDIT – I AGREE. When I was taking my sims this morning, I almost went to ask the prometric people if somehow my test had errored and I was doing FAR simulations. Obviously I didn't, because the other sims were definitely for audit. However, I did have TWO that were a very unpleasant feeling of deja vu from the two times I took FAR. I don't feel incredibly confident about those two sims, btw, so maybe taking FAR first doesn't help all that much. Whatever.

With regard to the question about sims on tickmarks – I've heard of someone having one before. I'm not sure how common these are, but like the other users said – having a general grasp on how tickmarks work should get you through this.

And finally, the main reason I'm finally posting: does anybody know (definitively, not just speculating) what it means if you have two research questions? I've heard it means one isn't graded, but I guess nobody knows for sure. Out of the 7 sims I had, two were research questions and two were pretty off the wall (the FAR-like sims). How many of the sims are graded/ungraded? Did I draw a ridiculous hand from the AICPA or what?

well there's one pretest sim. As for which get graded you gotta infiltrate the AICPA to know forsure.

I took it last night – 5:30PM time slots are strange, you're done at like 10! – and my test approximated yours, so no, it's not rare. I've had it happen on multiple exams. Also, since each sim is their way of testing you material they want you to know, I doubt both research questions would be live questions. Getting both right would confirm you know how to use the AL, really, really well… but would not give them that extra room to quiz you on something more relevant to the material at hand.

    Someone kill me now.

    2 + months of studying….

First testlet is cake, I maybe flagged 3 then second testlet and the questions are like one or two sentences and they don't make sense at all, all left field questions where some if them I can narrow down to two answers.

Got two of the research sims easy and I got 3 FAR SIMSwhat the fck.

I took far before but I don't remember most of that shit.

Look for me under the Brooklyn bridge next Friday

    FAR - 76*, 73, 85
    BEC - 69, 72, 78*, 80
    AUD - 72, 71, 90
    REG - 71, 74, 85

    AFTER 3 YEARS I'M DONE!!!

On the becker exams i took for FAR i got like a 62 and a 70. I thought i did well before i saw my score. On the real exam i thought i failed it. Someones gotta do a regression analysis on how shitty you feel about your test you took and what your actual score is to see if there is any correlation. lol.

I took my second AUD test today. First time I took it in January and got 69:( I came out of the center very confident, however, ended up with 69! I did not practice simulations well enough…..

This time I practiced ALL I am repeating ALL Wiley test bank simulations and lots of MCQs. However, I found my retake exam harder….Only 1 research SIM ( first time I got 2 of them). 2 sims were FAR like. And 1 of them….oh boy…I hope it was a pretest….was all about ***accounting***…I totally bummed that SIM as I know very little about that crap!

Can someone tell me if on the actual exam we get a partial credit for sims???? Wiley test bank doesn't count any partial credits for sims. If you make 1 mistake then the entire sim is 0 points!

***Edited by Kricket – Please be careful with exam disclosures. On the CPA exam, you are not penalized for an incorrect answer. To that end, if you don't know the answer then guess! You just might guess correctly.***

Becker self-study, Wiley Test Bank and books, Becker final review. NINJA MCQ bank and NINJA notes for BEC only!

    AUD - PASSED!
    FAR - PASSED!
    REG - PASSED!
    BEC - PASSED!
