KeymasterI’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.
In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

Participant@smsingla, I am taking a wild guess here to your question. So anyone can help me if I am wrong.
– Why would a client want the predecessor auditor to reissue the prior-period report on financial statements?
– A client may want the predecessor auditor to reissue the prior-period report on financial statements to make better comparison with the current report. For example, the prior year's engagement was an audit, but this year's engagement is a review (downgrade) There are two choices that you can do here, either put last year's statement at the last paragraph of the current year's report or reissue the prior period to become a review report. If it's an upgrade (from a review to an audit) you put last year's statement at the last paragraph of the current year's report, no reissue.
I just scheduled my AUD exam on April 15th at 1:00pm. The last three exams that I took were at 8:00am. So I hope by scheduling it later during the day would help me get a better score lol.

MemberI tried to find the specific AU-C, but couldn't. I believe that the reason a predecessor audit report needs to be released has something to do with the attestation. In other words, if the current auditor did NOT audit or review the previous statements especially in the case of a comparative financial presentation, then they cannot say that those statements are free of material misstatements. Thus, if the previous auditor will not release their audit report, then the new auditor can either refer to the previous auditor's audit report or perform some tests to give a reasonable basis.
I know I stumbled on it somewhere in the AU-C, but couldn't find it tonight when I tried to search for it real quick.
Wishing the best for everyone! You all will do awesome!
Funtiks: Remember not to be discouraged by low MCQ results – if this is your first time through A3, then press on. A4 is tough and is going to build on A3. A4 may help you to understand A3 a little more, and then you can go back to it. A4 is a bear.

InactiveExam sims = painful. For 2 of them anyway. I'm praying that the pretest sim was the one that I stared at for 5 minutes before attempting to read it.
The questions weren't too bad, except the first questions was about a topic that I delayed reviewing… Definitely not excited about waiting a month for results now when I'm more anxious than I was for my BEC result. On to Reg…

MemberJust came back home from the exam. I have a feeling I'll end up with 73 again… if not lower ((( I feel terrible…
2 sims were very hard for me. I couldn't even understand what do they want from me. Then I couldn't find “word for word” one of the research sims. Do they give partial credit for wrong research sims?
MCQs were OK, however, I wasn't 100% sure how to answer about 12 questions on each testlet. Also, I didn't feel that testlets got harder (((

InactiveI have a question/concern abt the AICPA AL access.. I got my access last week and I have been trying to work my way through it. Its kind of hard to understand how to navigate on it. I was trying to look up stuff on it while I did the sim in Becker but no luck finding the right information..
Another question I hv…as I was doing a Sim i came across the right answer the research sim..exactly what they were asking for but turned out there was another section in AL that was the correct section.. I dont know what the difference was..Mine was AU-C 500.56 and the solution was AU-C 700.53.. is it possible to hv the same description for the same item in 2 diff locations.
I am hving a very diff time with research sims.
Any suggestions?

ParticipantHi Julia_anika,
I hope you pass! I read somewhere in this forum and am not 100% sure, somebody said that since a research question has only 1 empty cell to be filled, it doesn't count as much as a SIM question that has many empty cells to be filled.
ayafzal78,
I have a hard time too navigate through AICPA AL access. It looks different from the AL during the exam but maybe I navigate AICPA AL wrong. I am not sure.
Ninjas, I have a question. If we make reference of specialist work, do we have to issue a modified opinion? Since if we issue an unmodified opinion, we don't make reference to the specialist work. Thanks!

Memberragepsn29, i dont believe you issue a modified opinion simply by referring to specialist's work. as an auditor, however, you cannot give responsibility to a non-auditor like someone in internal control. you can never do that. you can refer to component auditors however and still issue an unmodified opinion

InactiveScarletknight..I asked the same question from becker academic support and the response I got was:
“For Part 6, there's an error that appeared during a recent update – there should be a separate set of instructions that would have explicitly stated that the interval should have been $40,000. “
I hv not gone back to review this sim but will do in a couple of days

MemberI hated IT chapter in BEC and I hate IT in AUD as well.
No wonder my husband, who is a compute engineer, laughs at me all the time when I ask some computer related dumb questions or use wrong terminology.
Well, very soon I will laugh at him when he asks me any tax related question 😉
