Surprise extra study night for me! Was supposed to meet a close friend from our of town but she canceled so studying it is! Trying to finish partnership tax tonight plus 60 MCQ from previously covered topics.

Smp73 – I don't like flash cards, but I love the other NINJA products if I was going to get flash cards I would get NINJA. Do you have the notes and audio?

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Hi guys…slacker is here checking in! I'm tired. Somehow I gotta get back to work. Perhaps one last night of rest and then study like crazy over the weekend. Hopefully no kids will wake me up at midnight. Perhaps I should just go to bed now in case they do!

Good luck studying. I'll check back after I get a good night's sleep.

smp73 – I haven't gone through any REG flash cards. But I really liked them, I mean LOVED them for Audit.

I have the audio and the notes (even spilled coffee on my notes – so they smell like hazlenut haha). Really like them both. I listen to the audio at work and it is really helping! (yay!) I am strongly considering the flashcards. In fact if my CC was with in reach I would buy them now. :). Back to my regularly scheduled endless MC questions to end my Thursday.

Feeling really good about individaul tax so far! 🙂

This forum is going to keep me on track for my April 17 rematch.

Checking in – I'm getting close to 8 weeks out from my test so I'll dive back into serious study time beginning this weekend. I've been dabbling – an hour here & there – started with agency/bankruptcy.

I've seen conflicting reports about Reg. Someone said the exam is 80% tax and someone else remarked that the material is not overly weighted on tax – about 1/2 & 1/2?

It's time to get stocked up – after 2 exams I need more paper & a new toner cartridge & more index cards & pens.

What is your preferred pen for notes?

I'm very very partial to my Sharpie fine point pens.

    FAR 11/2012: 80
    AUD 2/19/2013: 90
    REG 5/14/2013: 76
    BEC 11/2013: 85
    Ethics: 100
    Waiting on the packet....

I hate all the pens in this apartment! Every time i get a good one ‘it goes missing' someone is either taking them to work or the dog walker is stealing them! I am currently stuck with a Pilot which I HATE, i like a good old fashion bic.

I think like with most of these exams, in my experience it all depends on the exam you get. I have seen people say it all the time, my review course said this would only be 1-2 MCQ and I had 10 MCQ and a sim, you never know you could get 50/50 or 90/10 all a crap shoot IMO.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

Got fired up after receiving passing for AUD and completed R-2 before the weekends 🙂

Wassup with Gearty during that lecture, wow? He does sound enthusiastic but gosh in a odd way, haha. I guess whatever helps us to learn. Certainly, I will remember that lecture. Even AMT stuff sounded not that bad at all.

I finished up the R5 lectures and MCQs yesterday. Today I will be reading the NINJA notes and taking a 70 MCQ progress test in Becker and a 30 MCQ pop quiz in the Wiley TB for R1-R5. I broke down and got the Wiley TB to help for REG and FAR since my BEC score freaked me out.

I'll definitely need to spend more time going over R3 with C and S corps as I'm consistently scoring between 55-75% on that portion of the progress tests. For whatever reason, that topic just isn't clicking for me. I'm 80+ on the individual tax, partnership tax, contract, and sales law so that's a good start there.

This weekend will be R6 lectures and MCQs and I'm going to work all of the Wiley TB questions from R1-R5 since I got it during my R5 review.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Would LOVE to start posting in here, maybe the accountability will help keep me on track, as I woke up at 530 for my study sesh, got out of bed, and immediately said “NOPE!” and went back to sleep and here I am regretting it.

@smp73 – I felt the same way about the 10 point combo!

    Happy studying, its Friday!

    Grr.

I loathe the verbiage in law. It's such a pretentious discipline.

    Hey Nam!!!

I am having a difficult time really emerging myself into REG. I really think it's the lectures. I'm going to read through the chapter and do the homework sansvideo tonight to see if that helps. Uugghhh…. Regggggg…..

@Wendy, I love Sharpie fine point pens. But my note taking is the Pilot G2 limited. And I only use the FINE refills. The ultra fine are too scratchy and the medium are too thick. But the fine just glides so effortlessly, lol.

    Hey mclkt and a71 fam,

I took 2 attempts in regulation , both time taxation was examiner favorite!! And had most hardest simulations , since we have 3 hours for regulation ! Time is major challenge!!

Take step by step master yourself in individual taxation, corp taxation, partnership agent and non profit org tax …(it will take 4 weeks )

Just for a wake up call – simulations are brutal!!

    Happy studying ;(
