I saw a thread like this for 2018, so I’m starting a new one for 2019.

Here’s where I’m at so far:

1/7/19 — mailed in full application form along with check, except for work experience certificate
1/9/19 – delivered to CBA (based on UPS tracking #)
as of now – check not cashed yet
Heard the CBA is very slow – let’s see how long it will take…

Thought I would NEVER get to post here!

I was licensed in TN in 2018, knew I would be moving to California completed the additional classes I needed before moving.

I applied in August. Received confirmation 8/30/2018 application received.
Moved in September, sent form to former employer for experience verification(took 2 months for former employer to complete because of the detail-their reason). Meanwhile, had fingerprints completed; sent form to TN to verify the person completing my experience was a CPA in TN.
Was notified that my experience as an auditor for 7 years with the state of TN was deficient in one line item to get a CPA with attest privilege (wtf!).
There was a lull in communication from CBA. I contacted CBA and was told that I had to change my status application request by email to a CPA without attest experience to go forward(December 2018).
Notified 1/19/2018 that I was approved to be licensed.
Today, March 01, 2019, I received my California CPA license number! Yay! So more than 6 months.

When did your check for $120 get cashed?

Also was this the first email you’ve gotten from them on the status of your application? I’ve yet to receive any emails from them unless they’re going to my spam but they just cashed my check today.
    Thanks in advance!

My check was received the 22nd of January and was cashed at the end of January.

And you've been sending emails to licensinginfo@cba.ca.gov correct?

They've actually been very responsive to me whenever I've had questions, usually respond within 1 to 2 days.

Also if you want an immediate response I'd just call them directly and you won't have to wait to hear back.

No I had actually never emailed them until today because of your comment. Hopefully now that I’ve contacted them they speed up my application a bit. Thanks for the advice!
