Hi all,

Thought I would start up this thread if anyone else is sending in their CA license application around this time. I will keep it updated and hope to help anyone else going through the same process. I really hope I get my license by 12/31/13 so I can truly say I am class of 2013! Sent my paperwork in via certified mail – return receipt. Now the waiting game begins…..

Well, here's a nice little story.

Sent in my application, application fee, and all paperwork back in mid-October.

Check was cashed in mid-November, nearly a month later. Received my yellow note about a week later. So this was a little over 30 days ago.

Today, I got a letter. Thought it would be good news. Instead, it's just another letter confirming that they have received all my documents, and to expect to hear back in another 4-6 weeks for any updates.

So two months now from when I sent everything in, it looks like the process hasn't gone anywhere.

Well, received another letter today from the CBA, telling me to send in the licensing fee.

So is this saying that the application and all has been approved?

@Dorn, yes that letter means that you were approved. I waited maybe 1.5 weeks after sending the license fee to receive my certificate and letter stating your license # and when your license expires etc.

Ugh so frustrated with the incompetent employees of CBA!!!!! Received a letter today saying my application was incomplete due to being short on units…. I am not short on units truuuuust me I'm have read the licensing handbook back and forth. Well they will be receiving a phone call Monday…… Weird though they apologized in this letter for sending the inaccurate status letter on Dec. 18th. Not happy with how they are handling things right now.

FYI, I received a phone call at work about two or three weeks ago from the person reviewing my application. She said the same thing about me being short of credits.

After almost throwing up on my desk from a sudden fear that I had made a mistake, I talked her through the transcripts for about 5 minutes, and she realized that she did her math wrong. She was very nice, and I'm very glad she actually called me in person, but I was dismayed at how they could not know how to add up the credits correctly. Wow.

Don't worry at all, you can clear it up with them.

@higher_flyer: thank you for sharing!!! I would have fainted probably had they called me and good thing I received the letter on the weekend… Gives me time to cool off before calling them. I am not impressed with how the applications are being processed! For all the money we have given them…. Just so frustrating

Man, if they are having trouble adding up credits now that dies not bide well for those 2014 licensees… Hugs to you!

So my boyfriend sent his application over 2 months after I did, and his process is going so much smoother than mine. I think I just arrived at the wrong time. Or someone was having a bad day 🙁 Will keep this thread very updated!

Over 2 months after you did?? That's like a week ago??

I sent mine before Thanksgiving day….so almost a month ago. Hoping to hear from them by Jan. 12 (the 30 day update).

He got his postcard within a week, I waited 3 weeks for my postcard.

Update: Long story short my AP units are not showing up on my college transcript properly. Quickest fix, switch to Pathway 1(was trying for pathway 2) and send in new experience form. I guess I didn't send the right one way back in 2010. What is done is done. I just want my license.

Crisis averted.
