    Hi all,

Thought I would start up this thread if anyone else is sending in their CA license application around this time. I will keep it updated and hope to help anyone else going through the same process. I really hope I get my license by 12/31/13 so I can truly say I am class of 2013! Sent my paperwork in via certified mail – return receipt. Now the waiting game begins…..

Just received my letter of approval stating that I will be issued a CPA # after paying the initial license fee.

    State: California

Initial Application Sent — September 27

Application Check cashed — October 2

Called CBA to inquire about status — Nov 8. It was under initial review by the person I spoke to on the phone when I called.

Received application approval letter — Nov 20 (letter was dated Nov 15)

Keep your chin up folks. It's a marathon. You will get there.

Thanks for the insight on your license journey. I'm personally afraid the holidays may delay my license. But as you say, it's just a waiting game it will happen!

Dodgerdawg — Why $120? Mine said that I have to pay $60 if postmarked before a year from now (second half of 2014), and $120 only if payment is made after that date.

Edit: I see you passed back in 2012, so maybe your time to pay the lower fee had already passed since you applied.

Yeah perhaps that's why, I can't really think of any other reason.

My timeline is a little off because I am out of state. After I sent on my original application they had to send me back a verification form that I had to have the out of state accounting board fill out to verify my supervisor's credentials. However, once they received that they sent me the status update telling me they had begun the review, and it was about 5 weeks from that letter until I actually got my license number (included in that 5 weeks is another letter telling you your application is approved pending another fee). Good luck!!
