krokofilenMemberGian: When is your exam day?
D C:
I have a similar strategy.
Got a huge document printed out that contains all my notes from Becker reading and doing NINJA MCQs. I think it's like 75 pages. Will never have time to go through it all, but I look back it at now as I'm in my final review phase and try to memorize some tough stuff from there. My strategy is to do 120 NINJA MCQs and 6 NINJA sims every day now up to my exam day 14 Aug, which will take me through all of them (I have done say 60% of them while reading Becker chapters, however hardly done any Becker MCQs). So basically I hammer MCQs and sims now, and go through my notes over and over again. I write down what type of fails I have (classified them into language, math, theory, concept, and impossible). For the theory and conceptual ones, I list the topics and then towards the end of each day go through my notes in detail on those topics. Got about 100 study hours before 14 Aug, which I think is a decent amount of time.

jpowell31ParticipantI'm down to 60 pages typed notes with 10 pages of handwritten neumonics and JE's. i plan to get down to 30 pages by Friday and rewrite handwritten down to 5/7 pages to drill down. audio every time i'm not in front of computer (or unwinding in bed/watching tv/actually speaking to someone).
i marked so many questions to ensure i went over them all again and i don't think i'll have enough time. panic mode count down.

krokofilenMemberjpowell31: You seem very well prepared, more than I am I can tell you for sure. That whole thing with writing down JE:s and re-writing notes I have skipped completely (no time). So I would not be worried if I were you. Did you take this approach also in the past, when you failed exams, or is this the new improved jpowell31?

jpowell31Participantthe above doesn't take into account the fact i've been working fulltime and have had quite a few major life events occur. this is my plan going forward now that i am off work (as much as i can avoid it) until exam day.
that question on installments above had me drawing a blank, for example, but i'm hoping that this week i can get down to being “comfortable with everything” then the last 5 days drill down on weaknesses . i've only written JE when going through notes/questions as they've come up – i haven't really used these yet so i really hope to rewrite at least once and review because i know this is a weakness of mine (for topics that aren't basic accounting knowledge JEs) and weaknesses showing up in the past = fail for me. there's quite a few things i feel like i've never seen before in going over my questions, which is terrifying me but i have never taken off this much time consecutively to focus on studying so i'm hoping it helps.
in my other exams i passed by writing comprehensive notes and understanding everything. there wasn't anything i didn't understand going in but i make mistakes easily, misread questions and mismanage time management. i don't think i will understand everything going in this time…i need some LUCK this time around. i don't know if i can do FAR and AUD again.

HopefulCPA0601MemberPer Ninja:
Generally, a nonmonetary exchange should be based on the fair values of the assets exchanged—resulting in the immediate recognition of a gain or loss.
Exceptions to this treatment include the following:
Fair value is not determinable
Exchange transaction to facilitate sales to customers
Exchange transaction that lacks commercial substance
Under these exceptions, no gains or losses are recognized.
I thought that losses are always recognized, whether or not the transaction has commercial substance. ???

D CMemberquick question.. i'm just starting ninja mcq for the first time, have always used becker materials and software only before. I'm finding the question structure and topics being tested different… is this designed more for people who use wiley test books? will I get much benefit from supplementing these mcqs?
