@amanda I really don;t know If should even go for my exam on 5/22 but then again I don't have a choice. Like you said, I don't know how differently I could have studied to feel more confident. I gave up everything for this test, at one point I even considered quitting my job. Now I'm only one day away from my test and I can't say If all I did will really be worth it or not. Only time will tell so let's just hope we get tested on our strongest areas on this exam and get that effin 75! coz in the end all that matters is a “75” no more no less.

Notaquitter – you are not alone.. all weekend me and Mustpasscpa could not post either.. we ended up creating new logins.

    Glad yours has been fixed.

next time either create a new login or email Jeff and ask him to help.

Also avoid posting weblinks as I have noticed another71 then thinks you are a spammer and locks you out.

    @ brainfarts Thanks!

So, are organizational costs amortizable or not? This whole time I've been studying I have it drilled in my head that they are expensed as incurred, then I just came a cross a statement that says “Organization cost are an amortizable asset.”

    What???

@zubairs ..Just go with confidence as if you know all…don't worry about how you studied and all that just makes you doubt yourself. Since you cant do anything about it right now and you have your test in 2 days, just do as much revision of concepts and MCQs and JE for simulations as u can.

Dont stress yourself and dont be nervous.First time i took this test i wasted about 10 mins to relax myself because before the test i was really doubtful of my preparation.

Keep Your Head straight, Just Believe in Yourself and think YOU WILL GET THAT 75

    FAR : 68, 74, 83 Thank you God 🙂
    BEC : 78 (8/27) 🙂
    REG : 72 ,80 (2/25) 🙂
    AUD : 69,67, 07/23

@Notaquitter is that statement for Taxation, as the organizational costs are not expensed for taxable income but it is for Financial income therefore there is a temporary difference.

    FAR : 68, 74, 83 Thank you God 🙂
    BEC : 78 (8/27) 🙂
    REG : 72 ,80 (2/25) 🙂
    AUD : 69,67, 07/23

They're expensed immediately for US GAAP but would result in a deferred tax asset since you amortize them for tax.

Is a change in accounting principle the only change that you would restate? I thought fo rsome reason you would restate if there was an error but just got a question wrong because of that

Sorry I took time to answer but Amanda and Wannabe said it well 🙂

In FAR they are expensed when incurred. IR Org Costs.

In REG we learnt the IRS allows you to amortized these costs over 180 months starting from year incurred.

Therefore resulting in the Temporary Diff.
