Are you sure it was Yaeger that mentioned that you would have to pay for 2012 updates if you did not pass? Their website states that they have a protection plan:

    Protection Guarantee

Our exclusive Yaeger 2012 Protection Guarantee applies to your 2011 sections.

If you do not pass the sections that you buy in 2011, we will give you access to the new updated 2012 videos for FREE!!

NOTE: You MUST sit for the exam(s) in 2011 to qualify for this protection

Yeah, I have been going back and forth with them all day. That only applies if you buy all four parts but I don't need them all. She said per part, you have updates, if available, or 25% discount to re-buy. We may have a 50% discount for 2012, but no decision has been made with this yet. Kinda silly but I guess I don't really have any other option.

Thank goodness I'm not alone!! I also had a TON of IFRS MCQs…made me wonder if I was still sitting for the AMERICAN Institute of CPAs exam 🙂

Anyway here's my story…sat on Monday and my first testlet was pretty straightforward, I thought I killed it. Clearly I did because the second testlet was pretty brutal, and along came a bunch of IFRS questions. The questions themselves weren't overly complex, but the topics were more and more obscure…stuff I really hadn't studied or even thought to study. The third testlet I thought was also pretty tough, so maybe I didn't do as poorly as I thought on the second testlet. Finally, I actually felt pretty confident about my sims…lots of JEs that luckily I felt pretty comfortable with. I think I did OK, hopefully enough to pass, but definitely don't feel the confidence I felt after BEC or AUD. I hope some of those IFRS questions were pretest…otherwise I'm not really sure what kind of score I'll end up with. Now begins the longest three weeks of my life…

Tested today at 4…I also had quite a few IFRS questions..not gonna lie..thought I did pretty well on the MCQ's..the sims…yikes..not so much…two I didnt finish…I thought they were very hard…I think they put way too much information in some of them..it doesnt fit on the screen..have to split the screen and it still doesnt fit…its irritating and then I waste time being aggravated over the set up..I think they should give us the sims on paper if they are going to put that much information in the question and on the info tab….I wonder if you can bomb two sims questions and still pass =( Ugh..im just not in a good mood about this!!

Sat for FAR yesterday. 1st and 2nd testlets were hard off the bat. 3rd testlet was medium in difficulty. There were a bunch of IFRS questions but that was expected. SIMS blew me away. I had 7 tabs, but only got to finish 6. The research question was even out of this world….like you know that that'll never happen in real life! That was probably the hardest test that I have ever taken thus far.

@ Cheer222 – I share your sentiments. I hate having to split the screen because of the length of the question(s). It was definitely aggravating maneuvering around.

Praying that this behemoth gets laid to rest once and for all. The waiting game begins…Good luck to all of us!

This is my second, I sat on 8/15 for AUD. I am using the same strategy/plan that i used for AUD. Do not know the results yet, but i feel that it went well.

For now, I am using Becker and will add Wiley test bank in the last two weeks of review.

    I have scheduled:

    FAR 10/10/11

    REG 11/21/11

    BEC 1/30/12

    Done 😉
    Class of 2012!!!!
Lots of prayers and hard work....

@ Cheer222 – Ditto! Although I heard that the harder the questions, the better your chances of getting a passing score. I hope what I heard is true…that exam literally blew me away, and I studied hard for it! Keeping fingers crossed and hoping for the best for us all.

@75 stay alive. I just took FAR today. I couldnt agree with you more about the test. Sims were insane. So many of them required me to enter numbers..no choices. I found myself guessing randomly on a few tabs. Not quite what I was hoping for.

75stayalive and RidingTheWave – I had the same exact experience. This was my fourth time and it was brutal. First teslet was difficult, 2nd was more difficult, 3rd wasn't as hard as the other two. SIMs were horrible. I think maybe I got the research one right, but that's all I felt semi-confident in. The others were long, detailed, deep, and obscure. Blahhh.. I felt the worst I've ever felt after an exam with this one.

    BEC 52, 61, 74, 77
    AUD 80
    REG 75
    FAR 50, 60, 70, 74, 83...DONE!!

This sounds very familiar. I took FAR in early July and had the same opinion on the exam. First test was relatively easy . The second and third conceptually got harder. The SIMs reeked of ridiculousness. Punched the final number in just as time had expired.

Sorry, but I had to edit your post. The info about your testlets was a little too specific.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

Marivy- Sounds like we have a similar schedule. I test in October, November and January. Good luck with FAR. I start tonight and hope to be through all the material once by score release. From there, I will review and practice practice practice.

I used Wiley/Yaeger for BEC, but plan to order Gleim (book and test bank) for FAR. I really liked Gleim's approach, level of detail and format when I used them as study materials in college. Any tips on how to integrate the two? I have the Yaeger videos that go along with the Wiley text, so I plan to go through that first and then look at the corresponding Gleim study unit when I go through the material the second time. Thoughts?
