Orleans candidate – I just got out of FAR myself, they threw a bunch of IFRS questions at me, my advice to other candidates: know IFRS. My fist testlet was moderate naturally, the second was slightly more difficult and the third was easy. I got a lot of government also. I did complete all seven tabs of the simulation and felt good about it. I am not optimistic at all.

@Katelyn I have taken exams in Metairie. I actually moved to Miami six months ago and have been testing here now. No matter what city I test in though it is always freezing in the testing centers. I am leaning on flying back to Metairie to test though because I passed exams there with flying colors and haven't passed the last three since I have been here. Good luck to you. I wish I could offer more advice but that is limited.

@Dee and Zizoty Thanks for the advice. If I have to do this again, I will definetly try to budget my time in the multiple choice a little better. The sims were not so tough they were just so darn wordy and filtering through the relevant information is very time consuming.

I tested on FAR this morning. I walked through the first two testlets pretty easily, but the third was tough and took me a while. Still I started the sims with 1:30 left. The first sim took me a half hour. When I saw that I only had an hour left and the first took me that long, I freaked out. I had a hard time concentrating after that as I was in a huge hurry to finish up. Luckily i had two research questions. I didn't finish up the last sim. Time ran out on me.

Has anyone seen a research question where there wasn't a parapraph number as part of the answer. I clearly found the answer, but there was not a paragraph number like the other one and it clearly had an answer box for a paragraph number. I am confused on that one.

Study up on IFRS. I had questions on IFRS. Glad I studied well on the subject.

I am guessing this is my first fail with my time issues on the sims.

    @crate,

    I hope you did well!

You might want to edit your post to remove the part that mentions the last sim.

This was my second time taking FAR and I also noticed quite a few more IFRS questions than last window.

BEC: 85 Expires if I don't pass FAR this window 🙁
    AUD: 74 87
    REG: 75
    FAR: 69 8/13**

Took FAR this morning…overall I thought it was going to be a lot harder. I was confident about my answers to about two thirds of my multiple choice questions. The sims sucked as expected, but I was confident on the research one and one other. Also, I finished with a half hour left. Weird? Anyway, I really hope I passed so I don't have to tackle FAR again. Good luck to everyone…heading over to group therapy AKA score release forums!

    AUD: 92 (10/2011)
    BEC: 82 (7/2011)
    FAR: 55 (8/2010); 88 (8/2011)
    REG: 62 (8/2009); 87 (1/7/12)
    DONE!

Marivy- Good luck in your preparation. I just took BEC yesterday and am starting FAR tomorrow with an anticipated test date of 10/24. What study materials are you using? Is this your first exam? I'm a newbie, so I don't have any expert advice; however, I have read that it is important not to get discouraged. Especially with the large amount of material that is covered in FAR, focus on breadth rather than depth. Especially your first time through. Good luck!

Out of curiousity, I added up the Wiley test bank MCQs for FAR. Holy smokes! Nearly 1400 compared to nearly 600 for BEC. Time to get busy!

Thats kind of weird your NTS is for a future date. Generally, the NTSs allow you to register right away. Are you sure on your dates? Also, are you asking which date you can register for the test or which date you can sit for the exam? I am pretty sure you can register whenever you want, but your exam date has to fall within the time period specified by your NTS.

Is anyone using Yaeger for FAR and liking it? I am trying to decide on a review course for FAR and am a little stand offish where they are telling me that if I don't pass in 2011 that the 2012 software would need to be repurchased with a discount of 25%. I think if I had taken FAR at the beginning of 2011 I wouldn't have minded spending $600 bucks where if needed I could use it multiple times. Now it is like a one time shot or add on another $450. I guess I am just wondering how well the course is working for people!
