I’ve ventured into the Health issues section, but this particular thread is supposed to help AVOID said issues.

Let’s share what we are doing to try and maintain our health while studying. What are you guys doing for workouts? Workout DVDs? Buying home equipment? Gym lifting? Cardio only? Any particular workout programs you are using or are you freestyling it? What time of day do you workout?

Are you guys trying to keep your eating habits under control? What are some good healthy study snacks you like?

While it may be difficult for these exams to not affect your health at all, it is important to minimize negative affects. Let’s support each other and share our tips/techniques!

@ Skynet Regular fritos…eating for the salt which is a no no…..I used to eat flamin hot but stomach can't take it anymore. It's too hot to walk, I don't know how I will get rid of the 40 pounds I gained studying for this exam. You would think I couldn't eat for all the money I spent on review materials, but some how donuts and coffee seems to be cheap enough.

I know what you mean. I am a Gold Rewards member with Starbucks and the Iced Teas and Coffees are FREE REFILLS!

If that wasn't enough McDonald's Large Drinks are $1 with free refills.

I try to go to the gym three times a week at a minimum. Even if I'm only lifting for 20 minutes, something is better than nothing. The CPA exam has already taken my social life, it's not going to take my health/body too.

I have gained at least 30 pounds since I started studying. I just recently started eating only veggies and meat. I go to the gym 2 times a week and have started running with a group training for a 5K 3 times a week. I hate running but I figured if I can cross that finish line without walking that should be some good luck for my exam the next day (wishful thinking).

I find that I sleep much better and I am less cranky since I changed my diet and started actually working out.

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

At times like this I envy the guys! It is so much easier for guys to work out during lunch. A quick shower, brush your teeth and you're ready to go in 10 minutes. For a girl, even with minimal makeup, it takes at least 30 min to get ready to go back to work.

I avoid mirrors in toto. <_<

I support barriers to entry but these exams are overkill.

Just realized this thread existed!! My weight is so out of control its sad :(. I used to workout so much and be a health freak. But since 2013 I've fallen off the wagon. I always have an excuse… Work, studying, special occasion etc it's just getting ridiculous. Now I'm starting with a regional firm at the beginning of September and I feel so insecure. I can't even wear heels for longer than an hour without my feet hurting so bad. I despise shopping and every time I go, I say ” i'm not going to buy that I'll loose weight and come back”. Now I have no “work appropriate” clothes for my job in September and hate the way I look.
