It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Congratz Mick! We will miss your updates 🙂
Does anybody know what date they are on?
What's the phone number and what do you usually ask for?
Based on how long they are taking I am sure they get a lot of calls asking for updates. Are the people who pick up helpful?

Congrats Mick, I'll also miss your updates. On another note, I really get the feeling that this 3 month backlog is intentional. Seems too coincidental that so many people are getting approved 3 months to the date of their applications.

I've noticed from my own experience that there tends to be a different person answering the phones when I've called later in the day who seems much more pleasant compared to the person I've spoken to during the day who just seems completely indifferent. I wouldn't be surprised if the person during the day was not even bothering to check and just repeating the same date for the week.

The application no longer requires a signed letter.
Form 1 and Form 4b, you can find them both on the NYS CPA website, or via google search.
A signed letter along with the 4b certainly cannot hurt. My employer sent a signed letter on company letterhead along with the 4b.

I sincerely think I could have studied for and passed both parts of the CMA in the time it will take NYS to approve and issue my license. They are on 5/1 BTW.

    Thanks for the update JC.
I just emailed them asking for an update and stressed that raises/promotions/career opportunities depend on this.
I hope that they take their job seriously because it impacts so many of us.
Will probably fall on deaf ears, but let's see what happens.

Just emailed them today and they said it was final approved on 7/24….my license will be issued within 7-10 business days..what are the chances I get my license in the mail next week or my name on the website?

It's frustrating that there's basically no transparency or accountability at this point of the process. They basically just force you to wait 12 – 16 weeks whether it's justified based off their workload or not. Also, they issued 247 licenses in July, so it looks like the only thing consistent about this process is that they basically issue around 250 licenses a month regardless of circumstances, which is why if they are ahead of their “quota”, we go days where the application date doesn't change and when they fall behind we see them process like 100 licenses in a week.

The response I received was the date that the board received my application and that they are taking 16 weeks. Apparently the board does not tell them what they are working on.
Weird, because somehow people on here post the application dates they are processing.
I guess all I can do is keep anxiously waiting.
Does anyone know the date they are processing? Seems like they haven't gotten much done this week.
