Since I have only one week until my exam, I try to write one memo a day. Even me, I don't know how to practice for the writting part. I guess as long as it has a beginning, middle and end we're fine. They say it is a waste of time to pratice for the writing part, but I am not a good writer and I need a lot of practice. It takes me at least 30 minutes to write a good memo. So I guess I need to allot one hour and a half for my WC.

Question: Do you guys think the 2011 BEC Ninja Notes are ok to use for the exam now? I used them and passed BEC with an 84 but I let the credit expire. I have to get the Wiley MCQ access and flashcards again, but I'm hoping to avoid buying the Ninja Notes again. Thoughts?

I think you can still use it as a supplement. BEC doesn't change that much. I took them twice back in 2006, and I can say it has the same content, pretty much.

Hey guys, taking BEC on the 28th. I'm using Becker. I was wondering how useful it is to do the written communication tasks for every chapter. Does it makes sense to do them? I'm fresh off a business writing class in school and can write a memo. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth my time since there's really nothing you can memorize and I'm assuming that you just get a sample memo for the answer instead of feedback on what you wrote. Any insight on this?

I'm retaking BEC (70) same day. I did 3 during my Becker test and scored a 100% on each. However, when I got my score report back, I only got a Comparable rating. I'll do them again for the Becker test. Not so sure on how they grade it.

I'll just be reading the Becker samples, as well as the ones from my Wiley book. I guess it's better to do more MCQs (I didn't as much as I should last time). Make sure to set aside 1.5 hours for the writing section, I used every minute of that.

Thanks for the advice. I kind of figured it would be best to focus on the MCQ. However, I'm definitely not blowing the writing off. It just may be better use of my time to go over the writing stuff a few days before the exam.

Hi, joining this thread. Start studying tomorrow and take the exam in 3 weeks. Have my excel calendar spreadsheet made and ready. Done with lectures/videos on the 19th, then review for 6 days. (2 days I'm out of town) Gonna study twice as hard as I did for AUD and I did a ton of hours for that.

Hah, I had just about the same reaction when I started the multiple choice for the first chapter of BEC today. The multiple choice questions for the cost accounting stuff won't even fit on the screen. So many have a solid paragraph of information followed by chart or two. I'm not doing too bad, but I'm quickly learning that BEC sucks. It's like the topics everyone hates all crammed into one exam.

Oh my goddd…. okay, since my college had a shortage of accounting electives, we were allowed to take a finance or economics class in place of ONE… so I took Econ 301 and my chapter one (Roger) is all the stuff we learned the entire semester, IN ONE CHAPTER. Oh dear… at least I am following it easily but I dreaded going and the Professor was the most boring guy on earth.
